As I recall
When one or two larger Vehicles would park next to me blocking my vision. I would slowly back out till I could see or I heard horns honking from a car coming who didn't want to stop.
There are times when your vision is blocked by bigger vehicles. No amount of head twisting or side view mirrors are going to help you.
That's where the camera comes in handy. The backup camera is a handy tool just like any tool you may not use it all the time but at least it's there. It is especially helpful when parallel parking.

Actually, my Dad had an answer for that..
Being a mechanic and machinist.. He always had preventive maintenance on his mind...
"You drive-in to a spot, then check for leaks when you back out"...
It proved itself for ME a few times...
