I've been following this thread for sometime and finally bought the mirror contained in the link above. My order number matches what is showing in the listing. I also had to call as the order sat for a few days because I didn't enter a VIN. I happened to call a few days after the CDK hack and spoke with one of the service guys. I work in the same industry so we chatted about their DMS being down and how crippling it was. He said everything was being done on paper and it would be a few days before the order could ship. He asked for my VIN and I said I didn't have it handy, but could confirm it would fit my vehicle. My assumption is that due to the CDK outage, I was sent a similar but slightly different mirror.
Following the video at the beginning of the thread made it easy to take things apart and wire in the mirror. I didn't realize until after installing the mirror that I received a different version - mine did not come with the compass, but it is auto-dimming and does have 3 presets for garage doors. The only hiccup with this specific mirror is the bezel that slides into the mount on the windshield is shaped differently than the other mirrors. I ended up having to notch out a space almost a square inch before I could remount the black plastic cover. Should have taken pictures while doing it. The mirror works like it should and no one can see my hatchet job as the trim.
