MAX battery is Ford's best so your dealership has access to it....l do not have pictures of it but it is a flooded battery...your dealership should have information and specifications when you ask them about it... I got mine from Rapids Ford so if need be they could call them..good luck....

As I mentioned elsewhere, AGM batteries don't impress me. They've been failing prematurely since day one. It is not just a Ford issue either.
Interesting, Panasonic is known for making great AGM batteries. My last Hybrid (Toyota Camry) had a 10 year old AGM and it was still going strong. This was a common story among Toyota Hybrid owners for many, many years. 👌

OP, I recommend the H6 Interstate AGM battery from Costco for $170. I installed this battery a few months ago and no problems since then.

My Cub Cadet battery 2 years. This is because I did not put the battery on battery maintainer (charger). Did you put your Cub Cadet battery on a charger during the off season?

Agreed - well, on the wet battery side anyway. I went beyond 6 years on the battery in my F-150. It still started the truck when I swapped it out, but it was getting kind of lame. Under-load testing showed it to be at the low end of marginal. I figured better to replace it before it failed, rather than after.

Not sure on which battery my Escape has - honestly never thought much about it.

My lawn tractor, a Cub Cadet, had a pretty lame AGM battery. Gone pretty much in 2 yearsAnd I couldn't swap it out for a wet battery because the area under the seat where the battery goes is just barely large enough for this one. I had to change it out. Was always marginal and needed charging in the spring, but it failed me when I had to shut the mower down way over in the corner of the yard under the power lines. I actually had to jump-start it with the F-150.

Something to keep my eye on, no doubt. I don't know if the battery type is terribly bad, or the charging strategy is bad. Had not considered it because I never encountered a problem until recently.
. RE: AGM cadet battery. I have Polaris ranger and a Troy Bilt Super Bronco mower which is super similar to Cub cadet made by Troy Bilt and sharing part numbers. Both have small AGM which manuals call for those AGM to be stored over winter in non freezing conditions with a maintainer attached. I am in central Texas so I leave them outside and use them at least monthly along with a battery maintainer every 4-6 weeks. I had health issues one year and left them untouched. The ranger battery had less than 1 volt do my Novo gen 5 would not see it to charge it. I jumped it with a 12v flooded and put my noco onto the flooded battery. The next day I removed jump and put Noco into AGM mode and left it on Polaris battery for a month. That was five years ago still using battery. Mower battery was seen and directly charged by maintainer and is also still in use. In years past son sold motor sports and the AGM for them were only warranted for six months because if they were not completely charged and did not see a charger for six months they would die. It's not so much the batteries are bad as it's they are never let to rest with a full charge on anything.

Slight correction, MTD makes Cub, Troy and a number of other yard machines in the Cleveland Ohio area. MTD bought Troy in 2001, Cub in 1981, also MTD®, MTD Gold®, MTD Pro®, Yard-Man®, Yard Machines® and Bolens®.

Yep MTD bought Troy, I forgot. It's like musical chairs. Stanley Black & Decker bought 20% MTD IN 2001 & remaining 80% in 2021. The Super Bronco was a slightly cheaper cub made for Lowe's big box "exclusive we have it no one else does" (at least initially). I only found out when I had to buy blades and discovered similar part nums. I use my mower hard 100-120 hours per year. Gotta check fluid in hydro drive this year and replace fan from 6 foot thistle stalk that rolled drive belt off pulley and did it in. May fix it and sell it and get new one. My 1986 Ford 1210 tractor needs new wiring tires, hydraulic hoses, etc.

I’ve had my 2022 2.0 Ecoboost about 23 months and battery decided it was retirement day. Anybody else have this issue ? What battery did you install ? Measured voltage with a voltmeter and is at 8.9 VDC. Ford batteries are crap and from what I’ve read have a 12 mo /12000 mi warranty . Walmart seems to have a good replacement with a 4 yr free replacement .
Disappointed! Factory batteries in my other vehicles typically last 8-9 years. Good to know, thx!

Just curious - was your original battery AGM or Flooded?
Flooded . I guess they were out of the AGM that day . Just read on Ford website AGM batteries are meant for vehicles with start/stop technology as in Maverick. Go figure !

My theory is. When the parts bin runs out of a non critical part, whether it be a glove compartment door damper or an insulating pad for the fender. They don't stop the line. The truck gets moved along and assembled without it.
OR as is the case with the batteries. They just stick in whatever battery they have handy, to keep the line moving. Then deal with the problems later as they crop up.

Apparently there were many ‘22 models, both EB and Hybrid, that had flooded batteries because of supply chain issues with AGM. The same issue applied to ‘23 models, but to a lesser degree. Compounding the issue, when owners used Forscan to adjust voltage on those models, the battery types were already set to AGM even with the Flooded battery types.

I have a ‘24 EB that came with a Ford Motor Company AGM battery with 760 CCA and I have been surprised at how well it has functioned. I used a battery tester on it several times a week to monitor charge and it has been great. The vehicle can sit for a week or more with little to no use and the voltage stays at 12.4 x 12.6 and the charge is always 85%or higher. A short trip can actually increase the charge rather than deplete. The Flooded batteries had the opposite effect. This is just one truck and it is still newer, but it makes me wonder if the new Ford AGM’s have improved the charging issues. I had a ‘22 Hybrid with a Flooded battery and around 450 CCA and it was awful from the start. Good luck with whatever you end up getting.

This is interesting information. So why is it so many people are having problems w/ AGM batteries with vehicles that are being operated daily?

This was my case: truck operated daily several times (2024 ECO), last month had to jump start it, took it to dealer, tested battery ok, a week later same issue, this time battery tested bad and they replaced it. It's been like two weeks now, no issues ... so far

I too have typically had good luck with OE batteries, and replaced few in my lifetime, often trading in the vehicle before I ever replaced one.
The battery in our Cherokee bought it after five years, the Ram I traded in for my Maverick was seven and still original. Not wanting to undergo the expense of another I bought a comparable Motorcraft battery at work to save some money.
I'm hoping that the vehicle it is in also has something to do with longevity otherwise I'll be using the warranty to replace it in another year or so.

Let me add, for those that may not know, quite a few manufacturers use Interstate for their replacement batteries. Having worked for VW, Toyota, Nissan, Jaguar, I can say that all of these were Interstate. Additionally, they told me they also supplied the Mercedes dealer in our area too. Imagine it is probably others as well.

Interesting you said that about your ram since mine lasted 9 years in my ram. the second battery is 7 years and no problems yet.
