Chevy volt can go two years. Was pretty sure, so I googled it.
However, my 20k mile mobil-1 says 20k or one year. I've been driving so little, so I've been going 1-3 months past 12 months on my 2013 focus ever since COVID (we're still mostly teleworking, driving 4-6k per year, mostly highway trips, not commuting).

Internal combustion engines require oil changes at least once a year no matter how many miles you drive. Acids and other combustion byproducts contaminate the oil and start destroying the engine from the inside out.
Especially if the engine doesn't reach operating temperature by going to the local market.

Speaking of first oil change... I did mine a few days ago and was surprised to see that there was an opening in the under engine cover through which one could access the drain plug. It's not particularly well positioned for that, but it does work. What surprised me is that there seems to be a part of it missing. Does anyone have a under engine cover on a '24 hybrid which has a panel in the place mine seems to be missing?

Same on mine, no panel. I think I saw somewhere that on the 4wd models this panel gives access to the transfer case. Since we don’t have one, that panel has been omitted at the factory. Thought I even read someone pointed it out to their dealer and got the panel Installed.
