That (band aid fix) is partly why we let the dealer keep our 2023 which Ford won't let us take delivery on...been sitting at dealer since right before or right after this recall was issues.....we (my disabled older brother) ordered a 2024 turbo.
I probably won't buy one for me after the many...
I wonder if Ford could check/monitor the motor oil to determine which trucks have faulty engines...send oil off to be analyzed. Ford likely has the capability.
Dealer is clueless, they wouldn't know, unsure if Ford corporate even knows...I heard someone at Ford say in September or later in 2022 they fixed the engine issue, but if true, then why was ours in the recall. It was delivered in June is my recollection, so I think engine was likely built in...
Dealer has no clue, truck is sitting at the dealership still! If prices hadn't gone up so much for hybrid, we'd seriously consider ordering a 2024. Might order 2024 turbo .. and should also search dealers for a 2023. Seen a couple on Facebook for fair price.
Wow didn't know 2024 were delivering. If they hadn't jacked up hybrid price, I would have ordered one.
Our 2023 is held hostage at dealer waiting since summer for the engine fire recall Band-Aid fix.. The recall was supposed to be done in October originally, which I knew they'd never meet...
LOL fire detector crossed my mind.
I wonder if very frequent oil changes (even if I do it at my expense) the first 10k miles is the solution. 500 miles,. 1500, 3000, 5000, 7500, 10k.... something like that.
Or is the bearing total garbage....filter should catch metal, so apparently oil changes...
They aren't going to "fix the engine". they already had a recall on the fire issue and simply added more ventilation. This time I think they'll add a shield to block spurting oil from hitting anything hot. And maybe add a warning msg when they sense the engine has failed.
The recall date ends on May 18th, so did they fix the engine issue?
I read somewhere it's a bearing that fails, but also read that engines made after October 2022 (December?) have not failed.
So did they fix the issue in October, and if so, why does the recall apparently include trucks made...
My brother's truck was delivered a couple weeks ago but for various reasons it took a while for us to line up insurance and now we have this recall notice - they won't let us take delivery tomorrow. I think this recall is for the same problem people on here have been mentioning for many months...
Jeepers...brother ordered hybrid due to it being my idea. He fears hybrid, anything electric (he's disabled and I surmise older conservative friends are filling his head).
Anyhow, supposedly switching to turbo raises odds of order being filled (we ordered on the final day)...argh...
Reminds...
Why did you buy it out of state? My brother ordered one this year (on the last day or second to last day so I fear his order will not be filled). Davidson Ford on route 31 in Baldwinsville (my area), as well as the Ford dealer in Medina did not charge over MSRP.
Ford told Davidson Ford they...
My wife's Subaru Forester had an issue in which a cooling bypass valve was open, and therefore the engine was running very cold. So I covered/blocked the grill and the lower dam recently (when it got cold two weeks ago) which helped, but it was still running cold and definitely nowhere near...
I think all we really need are low level audio outputs so we could attach external amplifiers.
For the Ford Focus, people found a (high level input) amplifier which fits behind the OEM head unit. They seem happy with it. I didn’t bother…no room for 12” subwoofer.
