If you were employed by the Bell System, and needed to operate one of their cars/trucks, etc, you would have taken their 'Safe Driving' course. Multiple habits for good situation awareness, escape from being trapped between the car ahead and the one about to run into your rear bumper, and changing lanes safely. Changing lanes today by many seems about the same procedure as a frustrated housefly or mosquito trying to get through a screen. Zip zap lane changed! No looking,Based on the fact that someone posted that it flashes FIVE TIMES with a trailer attached I assume that there must be a counter somewhere. I have not verified the trailer flashes. If this is the case maybe an led light bar wired like a "short trailer" could give you five flashes?????
I give the signal, check mirrors, leave lane which takes pretty much the three blinks. So if three is "I am going to change lanes signal" then three is about right. I would prefer 5 to give the behind me driver time to do something and not miss my signal.
nor any forwarning, and all to no avail as whoever they are gets to their destination at about the same time as if they had just stayed on one lane the whole trip.
Then you have the Banzai drivers. Loud mulfflers and swayback front wheels... to go around corners better. Dropped so they can scrape their oil pan and leave sparks... A local wore a hole
in his oil pan, making me think of someone dumber than a box of rocks or a bag of hammers, but only my problem if the mess left on the road caused an accident. Life's too short.
