  1. Can the Brand/grade of fuel reduce engine wear?

I can't speak for zach57x, but I used to work at a gas station in my youth, and sometimes we'd get deliveries from the tanker trucks displaying the brand on the sign at the entrance, and sometimes we'd get deliveries from the local ag supply business, or some other petroleum product wholesaler...
  2. Spotting Tremors in the wild?

I’ve seen one other Tremor since I picked mine up in May. But the very first thing I did after picking mine up was to remove the Tremor decals from the sides of the bed and the tailgate. So my Tremor is a little harder to spot, and there may be others out there who also prefer a decal-free truck.
  3. First Camping Trip — Rooftop Tent

I have not yet done a reliable mileage test on my setup, but I’m sure that the tent causes some extra drag. How might that compare to a side folding tent? I can’t say. But I suspect that the difference could be inconsequential. The aerodynamic fiberglass ā€œcapsuleā€ that mine fits in may cause...
  4. Can we trust them? 3 new colors.

If you looked at 100 different computer monitors, you’d see 100 different variations of Ford’s colors, some closer to the actual paint color than others. But most would fall way short. My guess is that Ford’s photographers work on calibrated monitors, so if you’re looking at the photos on a...
  5. Maverick Tremor Build / Yosemite trip

    Two words: Pee bottle. :p
  6. First Camping Trip — Rooftop Tent

I've got the older Jackery 1000 Explorer (they have a newer, more expensive one too)...
  7. How fussy about washing?

It's a truck. Not a Faberge egg. Run it through the car wash.
  8. First Camping Trip — Rooftop Tent

For those of you curious about the dog hammock, here's what mine looks like: It protects all of the exposed surfaces from dog spooge, and has a rigid floor that covers the open space where a human's legs would go, so Stanley has plenty of stable space to stretch out, and he won't fall into...
  9. First Camping Trip — Rooftop Tent

I got this one off of Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CHYJ6N6N?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 It’s worked well to protect the rear seats, including the time he puked his breakfast all over it. 😱 I just took it out, hosed it down, and then set it out to dry. And when I think...
  10. First Camping Trip — Rooftop Tent

Yeah, he was fully off-leash
  11. First Camping Trip — Rooftop Tent

Yes, I bought the T-Slot rails along with the Elevate rack. The Lomax cover works fine with them.
  12. First Camping Trip — Rooftop Tent

The Lomax Folding Hard Cover (not the Lomax Stance). I'm OK with it not folding up against the rear window to expose the whole bed, as it takes all of 20 secs. to remove it, and I don't want to drive around with the rear window completely blocked. Besides, at 5' 10" I have no problem leaning...
  13. First Camping Trip — Rooftop Tent

Yeah, my wife has no interest in camping either. Well, maybe a luxury tented safari. But not in my current rig. The upside? Stanley and I can get as dirty and smelly as we like. šŸ˜‰
  14. First Camping Trip — Rooftop Tent

I've been using this James Baroud rooftop tent that I picked up off of Craigslist for the past three years on my old Subaru Crosstrek. But this was the first chance I had to try it out with the Tremor. So me and my dog Stanley drove out to a campsite I know along the McCloud River just south of...
  15. Lane Change Signal - change number of flashes (flash count)?

My previous car (Subaru Crosstrek) also flashed three times after tapping the turn indicator. So I'm used to having only three. And honestly, I can't think of a time when I didn't make it into the next lane or onto the off-ramp by the end of the third flash. But then I check to see that the lane...
  16. Fire Extinguisher (In-truck)?

I have been driving for 46 years now, and in all of those years I have yet to find myself in a situation where I could have used a fire extinguisher. No doubt the gods will now smite me for my hubris. But I’m just going to leave the fire extinguisher in the kitchen pantry. ;)
  17. The outlet in the beds -- can it handle a refrigerator? What can it power?

Yeah, I used to think like that too. But on multi-day camping trips, having to frequently source more ice, keep the contents of the cooler from getting soggy, and frequently dispose of meltwater eventually got old. My little electric fridge has been a real delight for years now. I just pre-cool...
