Just wondering if any of you hybrid owners wish you had opted for AWD with the Ecoboost ? Imagine this may be influenced on weather severity in your area. Heard mixed reviews from the owners in my area in Michigan.
Thanks
Still glad I got the hybrid after 14 months of driving and getting 44mpg. Haven't gotten stuck yet, although I got a little "froggy" once.

I think the beauty of the Maverick is that you can get a FWD hybrid capable of 40+ MPG, you can get an AWD 4K tow capable vehicle, or you can get a Tremor that is probably the best of the soft roader options available.

Regret is something I'll never have in the Hybrid/EB debate. My next one will be a hybrid too.

We currently have three Mavericks in the family: my son's XLT Hybrid, my wife's XL Hybrid, and my XLT EB AWD. The first Maverick I owned was an XL Hybrid. I sold it shortly after buying it to get the EB AWD.

I sacrificed the Hybrid's better gas mileage for the standard 8-speed transmission (because I didn't like the CVT) and improved ride quality from the independent rear suspension.

My wife, my daughter (since she is borrowing my wife's hybrid), and my son prefer their hybrids.

I think you should buy what makes the most sense for you.

I probably wouldn't buy a hybrid AWD if Ford came out with them since my primary complaint with the hybrid is the CVT. Plus, I have made so many improvements to my Maverick that I doubt I could sell it anywhere near what I think it should sell for.

Had AWD before the hybrid Maverick and don't miss it one bit. Was worried because of the hilly terrain and Quebec winters, but got a good set of winters and haven't looked back. Two winters under the belt.

And can I say that I like how all these non-hybrid owners just can't resist sharing their unsolicited opinion.

My Hybrid Maverick replaced my Ecoboost Fusion and I'm glad I went with the Hybrid. I was getting 32-33 mpg in my Fusion, getting 42-43 mpg with my Maverick. I drive about 100 miles a day for my round-trip commute which is mostly in-town interstate with moderate to heavy congestion, and about 6 miles of city streets. AWD would be nice but not really necessary for coastal VA so that wasn't a factor in my decision to go Hybrid. Definitely not mad at being able to drive to work all week on a single tank of gas. Even with my normal weekend travels I'm typically only buying gas once a week. My Fusion was usually two tanks every week, my Mav. Is a tank and a quarter or less with a 3 gallon smaller tank. Makes my wallet smile with the lower hit at the pump.

My decision was based entirely on price point and that I was driving a 2000 S10. The Maverick was new, affordable and I was done turning wrenches on a 23 year old rusty truck that got 8 mpg in town. Now, at about 6,300 miles I'm averaging 50 mpg in mixed driving with this most current tank and could not be happier. I will be replacing the stock tires but I'm not too worried about winter driving. Lots of practice growing up rural with rear wheel drive cars and if you patient, know the road and your car your almost always okay. The Maverick has decent ground clearance IMO. If its truly lousy I put off where I have to go for awhile.

Four or all wheel drive is nice though. Higher up front cost, higher maintenance but the couple or few times you need it makes you appreciate it.

Coming up on 14 months of ownership, and there's been maybe two(2) times I thought about not having the AWD, with my last vehicle being an Outback 3.6R with Symmetrical AWD. The Maverick actually did surprisingly well both times, and it honestly hasn't been an issue.

Then there's the other 393 days, when there's that smile of satisfaction at the pump, after realizing you went 650 miles on ~12.4 gallons of gas. The Maverick actually rides a bit better and quieter than the Outback. (There's less wind & road noise in the Maverick).

Not in the slightest, the hybrid is 90% of the maverick's appeal. If it was just an Ecoboost, I would have never bought it. Having a small, cheap truck is nice, but that's not exclusive to the maverick. Having a small, cheap truck that's rivaling the fuel economy of the Prius, and beats out basically every economy car on sale is a massive selling point. It's what takes the maverick from "That's neat" to "I'm buying one".

Before I bought my 2024 hybrid I took the ecoboost out for an extended test drive. When I came back it was the hybrid for us. The hybrid was just a quieter and smoother powertrain and the amazing mpg sealed the deal. Yes the ecoboost is slightly quicker and has AWD but I purchased a good set of snow tires and it was only a slightly quicker than the hybrid. My wife drove a Camry for the last 9 years and never got stuck because of the good snow tires so not concerned about the Maverick.
Tires are where it's at. I've found that AWD actually leads to more people having issues in the snow, because it gives them a false sense of invincibility that leads to them driving like an idiot. That could just be a Utah thing, the average Utah born citizen has the intelligence and drive abilities of a carrot.

It's just not a Utah thing. Add AWD/4WD capability to a vehicle and people will tend to drive faster forgetting that shopping is still going to be an issue.

Not at all. Winters are getting milder here in Maritime Canada and New England States. So with winter tires winter has been no problem. Love the mileage of the hybrid and running on electric. Little need to haul a trailer.

Nope! I love my 2023 Area51 XLT Lux Hybrid! I’m done with the upgrades except my friend put in a utility mat from Home Depot over his SIL and it looks great!

Ecoboost AWD owner here. I'd skip AWD next time. For an average suburban warrior, it's all but useless.

Actually, I traded an AWD, 4k tow pkg for a FWD hybrid. Don't regret the trade at all. Although I liked the options, I live in Florida and don't really need AWD, don't have anything to tow, at least not enough to require 4k, so the hybrid is ideal for me.
