Long time lurker first time posting well sort of....
I just picked up my Maverick last May and have already done a few mods to it so far.. I recently added a Gentex auto dim mirror and while installing my wiring harness I ran it down the A pillar to the fuse box. I pulled the glove box out and noticed something missing???

Yep you guys are correct... Was fully expecting to have to remove it from the glove box but it wasn't there... So I contacted the dealer I bought it from while I was on the phone I was sent to just everyone but the used car manager to help me with my problem, finally I just asked to speak to the service manager explained my situation and sent him the pic and explained it looks like the damper is missing of course he said he would have to get with Ford cooperate and get back to me... Well he did about a week later and said that part does not come on the maverick!! I responded really are you kidding me and explained that there are several different videos on the net showing how to change the cabin filter and you can clearly see it in the videos posted Its also listed as being in the 2023 Ford parts listing part # LJ6Z-7806200-A and it was called a damper assembly glove box support.. Crickets was all I got from him finally he said again he would have to again check and get back to me. Told him to just forget it I would just buy one myself....

Another example of a dealer being completely clueless. And when you responded with factual information, they don't know what to do. I have learned so much about my Maverick in MaverickTruckClub than any visit to the dealer has garnered. In fact, I know what to ask for when I get there. Definitely will be doing all my own oil changes.

Dealers get a lot of blame but they are the problem children that the parent (Ford) failed them (by producing shitty quality vehicles) and then allow their shitty behaviors (deny warranty claims, refuse to acknowledge missing parts, etc) to continue.

Dealers are shitty but the buck stops with @Ford Motor Company - but they won't respond with niceties to this post.....

Just looked. My mid Jan 24 built (bought 4/3/24) Lariat Hybrid has the part you are missing.

When I had my Dec 21 built 22 Bronco Sport, it (as was all others behind it) was missing the insulator panel under the glove box. When I called it to my dealers attention, they "checked" and it was at that time supposed to be there. They ordered one & took over a month to get, (supply chain issue??) but gave it to me when it came in.
BTW, it looks like it would fit under the glove box on my Maverick too. ???
Unless it is specifically listed as not being installed anymore by Ford, (dealer can check if they would) your dealer should get you one.
When was yours built?

Mine was built 4/4/24 and as far as I can tell it should have come with it.
I have already obtained one and it should be here on Saturday. Did not care for the dealer I bought my truck from in the first place and I hope to never go back to them so that adds to my lack of patience in dealing with them in the first place.. It was only a $20 part but it should have been there....

Just checked my 2024 Maverick Lariat built on 2/23/24 and it also does not have the damper.

That looks easy to service. At least there isn’t a screw there. My wife’s Escape filter is a royal pain to access. And there’s a screw there holding the cover on. Drop that screw, bye bye, !!!, it disappears into the valley of the console frame. And getting that new filter in not easy.

For reference, my 10/23-build 2024 XLT Tremor does have the dampener.

So when you would open the glovebox, would it just fly open and release all the way?

I hate it when stuff like this happens because it makes you wonder what else they missed? Piston rings, maybe? lol.
