why? you can't do anything nefarious with a VIN number, otherwise people would just look at windshields and write them down, and do whatever.

a VIN is intentionally, by law, public.

I agree with the few folks that pointed out no codes...software and sensors can go wonky. Revving up to redline with no shift for no reason? Get it checked now.

I’ve got about 5700 miles on my 24 mav. Yesterday drove from Texas to my Dad’s in Florida. This morning got in the truck to head to beach and transmission was slipping bad. Revs up to 7000 rpm before shifting gears. It seamed to be okay after a few min of driving.

I went out again just now and it did it again. Video attached. I’ve notice it do this before in the morning but not near this bad. Chocked it up to me just not being used to this 8 speed transmission. But now I’m worrried. Taking in to local dealer if I can get in but worried my trucks going to end up stuck far from home needing a new transmission. Please tell me I’m wrong

I am assuming this will do nothing... but I wanted to ask anyways just to see. Did you try changing driving modes to see if anything changes while it is acting up? If I recall right the different driving modes may change shift points and such, and other things, and just asking to see if maybe that did anything. NOTE: I am not saying that changing driving modes fix any issues... but maybe that could help them with diagnosis as another data point to troubleshoot the issue. IE...no matter driving mode, wont shift...or "2 of the driving modes seems to decrease issue"...etc. Figure useful information can help them identify issues. Just my $0.02

what a terrible situation to be in - in the meantime I'd contact Ford and explain your dilemma and ask them what they will do if after the dealer 'fixes' the problem and if you get stranded again on your journey home - including if they would then tow you and your truck back home regardless of how many hundreds of miles might be left. I feel for you - I can't imagine the uneasiness of launching a 900 mile trip back home with a possibly unreliable vehicle - my only advice would be to exercise the trans as little as possible -fill up completely and take the xway route for as long as you can regardless if it happens to be a little longer journey. Hopefully they find it was just some trans oil leak (some pan gasket problem) , they fix it, fill it and you're on your way. Good luck.

Ford contacted me on Maverick truck club forum saying “Good morning! I would like to take a closer look at your transmission concerns on my end. To get things started, can you please send over a message with your VIN along with the name and location of your local Ford dealer?”
That's an AI canned response from a ford bot monitoring this site. It never does anything but tell you to contact a dealer and supposedly make Ford look like they care.

There have been a few cases of transmissions exploding with very few miles on them.

yes. actually more cases of people doing hundred or more quarter mile passes on modified ecoboost trucks with no issues at all.

I think the early failures are probably fluid related.

Ecoboost or Hybrid?
definitely ecoboost in regards to any incidences of early transmission failure I've read about here or in FB groups. I have never seen anyone mention an issue with the e-cvt in a hybrid, I'm sure in part because it isn't really a transmission in any traditional sense.

I have seen a few people with issues with the coupler between the e-cvt and the 2.5L internal combustion engine. very rare, IMHO.
