I feel like one of the bihgest things i wosh we had was just a little more ride height, i have a 2002 Ranger Edge edition and it sits up higher than normal rangers of its years and i love that extra height.

Maverick comes very well equipped so consider these as nitpicking. If Ford starts giving these as la carte options, its reputation will increase further in the eyes of customers. If l am not mistaken, options in Bold aren’t available at any trim level.
  • Cruise Control
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Push Button Start
  • Ventilated / Cooling Seats
  • Choice of few Interior Colors / Materials
  • Acoustic Windshield

  • Folding Side Mirrors
  • Auto Dimming Rearview Mirror
  • Homelink Rearview Mirror
  • Power Rear Window
  • Power Tailgate
  • A/C Vent in Rear
  • Navigation

According to the Maverick eSource book, all models come with standard manual folding mirrors. Lots of folks like an auto dimming mirror but after having one in my last vehicle, I never will again. I have had 6 eye surgeries so I’m sensitive to glare; the auto dim never dimmed dark enough. Also if low sun is coming in your back window and showing in your mirror, auto dim does nothing; a manual dim you can flip to cut down the glare.

I agree that I'd love to see more a la carte options. But the beauty of the Maverick is it's simplicity and it's budget-friendliness. As much as I hate trim levels, they create "standard" trucks that make production easier. But I definitely agree that all options should be available at all trim levels. If you want to build an XL that has the same features as a Lariat, you should be able to (although it should cost slightly more just to encourage people to utilize the trim levels).

I've had both manual and auto and couldn't care more for either because I've always had a headache rack and tool box, camper shell/topper, or something else permanently obstructing the view out the back. Can't miss what you never had!

Fortunately in California, a rear view mirror is optional on trucks if you have mirrors on both sides, so I just removed it in all my other trucks. Gives a nice unobstructed view out the windshield. I have the auto-dimming mirror still on the Frontier because it's the only place that shows the exterior temperature and compass.

Sorry l meant auto/power folding side mirrors, not a necessity but l guess Ford will make some money if it comes as an upgrade / option.

And you will be surprised how many folks don’t know that all/normal rear view mirrors have manual dim capability 😊

I was hoping for proximity key access and push button start without having to go to the Lariat Luxury package. XLT Luxury suits my needs otherwise for $4k less. The folks that have seen them in person speak very highly of the XLT "unique cloth" interior, even favor it above the brown vinyl in the Lariat. I saw the brown in a Cactus Grey Bronco Sport and was highly impressed with the entire package, which eases the unknown of the Maverick since it is on the same platform. I'm hoping for upper 20's MPG on the 2.0 FX4.
My salesman told me (or maybe I read it somewhere) that you can start the truck using the Ford app, which was better than the remote start offered. Reason being is that with the remote start you have to be fairly close, around 50 feet, to the truck in order to start it, but by using the app you can start the truck from anywhere in the world as long as your phone has internet. I don't know if this is all true or how accurate the info is, but I will certainly ask him again to verify this information. Personally, I've had remote start on my '08 F-150, but it was an aftermarket model and it had a great range. It was really nice on those hot summer days or cold winter mornings to be able to have my truck running before I left a store or work. A 50 foot range would mean I'm practically at the vehicle. Being able to use an app would be like my old aftermarket remote start!

I helped my daughter move today and the big ticket items left on the list were her washer and dryer. I loaded them up in my '05 Ranger extended cab 4x4 XLT and moved them to where they need to go with no problems. We loaded them in the bed of my truck one in front of the other, dryer first and washer second, and they were transported with the tailgate up. There was enough room leftover we also put her microwave oven and floor-standing dehumidifier between the washer and the tailgate. On the drive to their destination point it occurred to me the bed of the Maverick would not be capable of loading a standard size washer and dryer end-to-end or side-by-side in its bed with the tailgate up. It will with about a foot to spare to the edge of the tailgate down, but thats the only way it could handle such a common size load for any truck. I dont haul a load like that very often, but I do on a semi-regular basis. This is definitely enough to raise my eyebrows and puts bed hauling capacity into some sort of context. Enough to deter me from considering a purchase? I need to think about it.
Taligate down and a couple ratchet straps on all the tiedowns, good to go. Now if they were hanging off the back of the tailgate that's a different story.

I like most everything about the Maverick. What I like least is the color of the interior.......the only one I like is the XL.
Those two-toned interiors look awful in my humble opinion. The leather color(s) of the Lariat could be so much better.

I don’t know how they possibly arrived at the conclusion that only one interior color option was a good idea. Moreover, to pick a two-tone with brown as the standard for their premium trim is just dumb. It’s a very polarizing design. They would have been much better off with a more conservative design with black/charcoal. Leave the weird two-tone color schemes for premium add on packages.

I hate the fact that it appears to not come with Homelink! I ordered the $38k 2.0T AWD Lariat with Luxury Package and from what I can tell no models will have it. Its a $25 part come on..!

Homelink rear view mirror is a common aftermarket option

I don't understand why they didn't offer other options for the interior. Say if you ordered the XLT model why couldn't you have either the XL interior or the XLT interior? If you ordered the Lariat model then you could have the option of XL, XLT or Lariat interior. Just my thought.

Cost...
That's why the limited number of interior options. Speed up build time and material inventory.

It's got me really torn. I want the Lariat interior...but not sure I want to add 3+k to have the other features.
If I stick with XLT, those blue door panels don't really go with some of the exterior paint choices.
