Granger isn't available in California either. Anyone have. A solution for CA owners?
See above. Use a friend or family member’s address in any state other than FL or CA to purchase. The warranty is delivered to your email address. The physical address you use is sent nothing. The warranty is accessed by the VIN at the dealer, not the address. You can verify this via email or a phone call to Granger.

Carmax offered me msrp plus $2,500 for the CG AWD XLT last week of March. I was like WTF, the offer was retail.

We talked it over and decided a Maverick with the tow package would suit our needs better than the XLT without one. Sold that Maverick to Carmax 3/29/2024.

Looked around and Plaza Ford had an incoming dealer-ordered Lariat that looked interesting but OTD was $41,000. Took a few days to decide that one was more than we wanted to spend for a replacement.

Asked if order bank was still open and it was. Ordered the more affordable XL with the tow package 4/9/2023. It should arrive before July fourth if no delays in production/transport occur.

Bought a warranty from Granger for the sold Maverick. Delayed posting about cancelling with Granger until everything was complete.

Granger is righteous.

Using email and phone contacted them and got a substantial amount of the original purchase price back.

Maria Grimm at Granger issued the refund and the end result was exactly as she told me the first time we talked. Maria said 5-10 working days to post to my accounts and 2 calendar weeks later the entire refund was processed.

One of the first things I’ll do when the XL arrives is buy a plan from Granger.

There are lots of things people choose to spend money on for their Mavericks. I skipped some of those and got a ESP from Granger instead.

Yes, from Granger 7 years 100000 miles $1040 it’s worth it
What does that cover? Lights entertainment systems? What's the deductable ? I am asking because I looked into it and found it confusing

I don't buy expensive products if I think the maker isn't reputable. I've owned Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Subaru and they're all about the same.
.

Let's Play the Game "One of these is not like the Others"......

From your List, Honda consistently ends up on various survey's regarding Excellent Vehicle Quality. The others do not. Yes, they may appear from time to time, but not nearly as consistently as Honda (or Toyota for that matter). Do Hondas or Toyotas have problems or issues, absolutely, but not nearly on the scale as the others have/do over the last 30 years. I'm not dissing Ford, GM, Chrysler or Subaru here (I have owned cars from ALL of those brands in the past, But right now I'm in a 2023 Ford Maverick and I did purchase from Grainger, the 10 Year, 125,000 mile warranty, and at the price they offered it, I feel that it was a good buy for me and my own piece of mind.

My Maverick will be at the dealership Mon. Should I buy an extended warranty?
I'm late to the post but with todays vehicles having a lot of technology that is expensive to repair, I think the warranties make more sense. While I have EW on my Maverick and my wife's Escape, I'm fine with both being a waste of money if that indeed becomes the case. Not sure if I'd pony up for the more basic coverage that doesn't cover computers.

My 2 cents. If a company has confidence in their product, they shouldn't have to even offer an extended warranty.
.

We can turn that idea on it's head. Hyundai / Kia offer those 100k /10 yr Powertrain warranties on their produces BECAUSE THEY ARE CONFIDENT in their products! They know the Math. Originally they had to offer them as an incentive because there products were unknown (and initially, of lower and sometimes poor quality) but now their Quality is on par with many of the Better Japanese Makes, but can keep that long warranty period because they don't actually have to pay it out as often as their quality is above average.

For me buying the Ford Maverick Hybrid, it had nothing to do with my Confidence in Ford and everything to do with they were the only ones offering a Small, Hybrid Pickup Truck. It would have been a no brainer for me to get a Hyundai Santa Cruz or Honda Ridgeline over the Ford Maverick, had either of those companies offered their's with a Hybrid Drive. I hope my ownership of this Ford Maverick can help me to learn that Ford Makes a Quality product, but frankly, based on Ford's track record, I'm not to confident that it is. At the Price Granger offers the Extended Warranty, I had no problem buying low priced coverage through 8 years and 125,000 Miles.

Anyone making the argument that you are wasting money on the coverage because it only adds on is a Math Idiot. You can simply take the cost of the coverage and then subtract out the MFG Warranty coverage, and then if you want to get fancy, divide it by the Years and or Miles that your extended warranty covers beyond the Factory Warranty to evaluate is as a stand alone product / service. After I was honest about how much driving I do per year and how long I think I'm going to be in my Maverick, I made a spreadsheet to evaluate the various combinations and bought both within my budget and needs.

Ford IS Validating that this is a Market for This Size Truck, and a Hybrid Version as well (at least at their initial price points). I think we will ALL be better off, even the Ford Fanboys and girls if there were more products offered and competing in this segment.

I didn’t read all the blogs, so my comments maybe repetitive. Sorry!
Here is what I have learned during my 70 year plus life. At a dealership you really really get different service if you have a warranty. If no warranty, after a certain mileage there is something wrong every time you go in for general service. But if you have a warranty, you have the most perfect running car that ever existed.

I had life time warranty on drive train on my Toyota 2012 Pruis. It failed and guess what no paperwork could be found. Dealership said they were sold and did not pass maintenance/service over to new owner. We did not have paper supporting warranty either, but we were told it existed, but new owners could not find it. We think original dealership did not buy warranty from provider thinking no claim would evolve.
Buyer truly beware. If was an economical thing to do then provider would loose money.🤓

Well I might be old,but I am not an idiot.in my 64 years I have purchased numerous new and used vehicles, and have never needed an extended warranty. Waste of money in MY opinion. I can only say what works for me.

I looked into an extended warranty, $5400, then they've hounded me for weeks because I didn't buy it, may only keep the Mav hybrid until Toyota comes out with something comparable. All of the recalls, service bulletins, truck dying in rush hour traffic on I-95 has me a bit gunshy, had it a 18 months but I've put almost 22,000 miles on it. It's like driving a "Wrench and Ride," like I did for 30 years, you know it's going to break down but you don't know where or when.
Your price quote sounds like the Standard Price Most Local Dealers would quote.

Did you trying for the EXACT Same parameters from Grainger. You should and it might actually be reasonable for the coverage at the Grainger price offered. I ran both sets of numbers (my Local Dealer and Grainger's) and it was not worth it at my Dealer's price but then it became an easy decision and of value to me when I got the Exact Same Coverage but at the Grainger price.

Grainger is obviously making money on it as a Volume play that the Local Dealers have no experience in nor can they actually compete with, apples to apples.

While I did not call you an idiot (READ IT CAREFULLY) and you are welcome to come to your own conclusions and make your own decisions, people who can't understand how to price the Extended warranty vis a vi the Manufacturer's Standard coverage, then yes, they are idiots. It's 6th Grade math tops.

Kia/Hyundai are still lacking in buyer confidence once people learn of the failure rate on their engines. They play games with coverage of their extension, and are less than generous. Watch Ford Boss Me YT video on a young lady who bought a used Kia, and had the engine fail. Selling dealer did not tell her of the recall, it was not done, engine failed, she got nothing.
Try to find a used engine for a Kia/Hyundai. You will not find one at reasonable price. They are in demand because they fail.
I have no dog in this fight, and actually like their product, BUT do not think its quality is on par with some more established brands, and there are some dogs out there today more than in the past.

As far as an extended warranty, I am old and getting older, and much less likely to be able to replace a failed turbo or A/C compressor than in the past. I have worked on cars, and been a licensed driver since the first day of Mustang production. I have repaired and replaced engines and transmissions, done brake jobs, and about all in between. Now I am over 75, and just don't have it any more. I replaced the timing chain on my Vulcan at 180k miles as I did not know if it had a plastic toothed cam gear. I have replaced alternator brushes not knowing their expected lifetime, and they worked fine. I am no a dummy.
I bought given the fact that parts prices have gotten onto the inflation elevator, along with labor rates, and dollars are on the lose-value-daily train. Give them crappy, getting crappier dollars for service and parts at higher rates sometime in the future, when I am hopefully older and still around...
Circumstances abide.

The Maverick is the first vehicle I purchased an extended warranty on, but I did it something around a year after purchase when I knew I was keeping the truck. As with many, Granger was who I went with.

With as expensive as modern vehicle repairs can be and how cheap the warranty was, it was kind of an easy decision for me given my use case.
