After having it on AutoTrader for one day and getting two scammers with these four page instructions on why they can’t come see it I called it off! Tried to get my money back, they said no, my visa said yes, gave me a credit. AutoTrader needs to vet their buyers. Sheesh…so obvious. Any way my Mav is still in San Diego and ford says 4 days it is here (not.) I am going to keep my ‘18 Kona for a while.

Ford told me $17,500 for my 2020 Corolla, but I just filled out carvana’s online quote system — they offered $21,200. My truck is being built end of Feb so I have some time. Anyone ever used Carvana? They just bring you a check?

Put my Ranger on Facebook Market place Tuesday afternoon. Had a handshake sale in 4 1/2 hours after listing!! Sold for asking price of $6500, no bickering!! Paid cash on Friday. Put in bank, and TRIED to make a phone payment, in full, with Ford. Never got a live person!
Payment made. Will be official in about 4 days, once payment processed.

This is my backup plan. I WANT to trade in my 2008 Ranger, but its really up to the dealer. I have a figure they need to meet, which is crazy reasonable, because it's just easier on me to drive it in to pick up my Mav and leave it there, one car household. I live in a working class neighborhood with a lot of contractors, could park it at the end of my drive with a For Sale sign and sell it easily, but it'd just be one more thing for me to have to deal with.

Selling my '16 Subaru Impreza miles to a friend in another state, who wanted to buy it. He offered to pay my airfare back to NWA.

Maverick should be delivered between now and the end of the month.

Traded it in to the dealer (got well above median KBB for it). Selling it anywhere else wasn't going to be likely, because there is an open recall ("do not store in or near structures") for a possible spontaneous ignition even when the vehicle is off that Jeep dealers still have not been provided the fix for.

Try getting an offer through Kelly Blue Book (https://www.kbb.com/). Ford dealer only offered me $6k for a trade-in on my 2011 Ranger, and I sold it through KBB for $14k to another local dealer.

That was the typical configuration 40 years ago. Now it's rare enough to be a collectable.

I was given an offer on my Ram when I went Maverick shopping, and thought they were nuts. It was dang near what I paid for it, although it did only have 13,000 miles and lots of warrenty left.

Anyways, my brother in law asked if he could buy it. I said sure, if you'll give me what the dealer offered me. He said yes, so I sold it to him.

Turns out I shot myself in the foot. I had to pay taxes on the whole new truck rather than almost nothing. I didn't realize that until later. Ended up costing me a couple thousand to be a hero brother in law. (insert banging head)

Oh well.

Got online offers from Carvana and CarMax. They were within a couple hundred dollars of each other. Dealer matched the higher one on trade in. That way, I saved on sales tax, too.
