On the fog lights, although the slots in the bumper are for the tow hooks, they are not fully utilized:

I am guessing there may be alternate fascia inserts to support driving/fog lamps for the unused space at some point in the future.

Grumbles:
- The lack of adaptive cruise control on the XLT trim.
- The use of a key in the XLT trim.

Growls:
- The likelihood that cost and supply chain issues gave us an 8" screen with a little shrine instead of a proper 12" screen.
- No hybrid with AWD and 4K tow.

Oh come on you know they could have done this:
- I wish they could have reduced the engine bay by 5", pushed the cab forward, and offered a 5' bed.
The no AWD part really sucks. That’s the only thing making me hesitate.

I drive less than 10K kilometers a year so gas milage isn't as important as AWD

I'm hoping some enterprising dealerships will install 3D printers in their showrooms to allow customers to buy print-time, or just sell their own custom accessories.
That sounds great until you realize that there's quite a learning curve to using 3D printers, large things take quite a long time to print, and few dealerships are going to want something that can literally catch on fire running overnight, unattended. The bigger the item, the longer the print, and the more things that can go wrong. Plus, you'd probably want to print everything out of that nasty, stink ABS plastic and that's a whole other ball of wax compared to PLA.

As a heavily modded Ender 3 owner, the possibilities for that slot are limitless. :) The dealerships won't be involved with DIY due to the liability, but I have a feeling I'll be selling quite a few things.

I also am annoyed that you can't get the 4K Package on the Hybrid, especially since electric motors are extremely torque-y.

The Orange accents on the vents and door handles are ok, but too much on the center storage console. I also have to wonder what the Navy Pier interior (which I assume has bluish shades?) in a red truck with those orange accents? Doesn't seem too pleasing a color combo.
I have to wonder what ford was thinking when going with such a loud color that clashes with most of it's paint options. You're gonna see a million of these things vinyl'd over.

Overall I love what I've seen and have already pre-ordered.

Gripes I have:

1.) No fog lights but the bumpers look like there are future plans for them.
2.) No wireless charging option for the XLT. Wish it was like $100 addon or something.
3.) No Adaptive Cruise Control option on the XLT. (Not a huge deal, never had it before, don't know what I'm missing)
4.) No key lock on the cubby in the bed to deter thieves.
5.) No push button "keyless" option for the XLT.
6.) No automatic rear window option for XLT.
7.) No dampening on tailgate.

Thats about it. None of these are deal breakers and mainly nit picky. Truthfully I think my real issue is that I just hate trim packages. I wish they'd get rid of them and just let you ala carte select your options. I get why they exist. I just want exactly what I want, and nothing that I don't lol.

It's actually the perfect size for sunglasses (assuming it's deep enough)... and doesn't make them scalding hot in the summer like the ones in the ceiling, or difficult to get to, like the space behind the screen... just my 2¢..
Exactly what I was thinking. Hope it's deep enough for my sunglasses and I'll be good. I don't hate it at all. I never gave it a second thought after I saw it. Just thought "oh another cubby".

I’m hoping that the aftermarket will rectify this situation. I’m not sure how much it would’ve cost Ford to add a keyed lock to these cubbies, but I can’t imagine it would’ve been much. Hell, charge me $30 bucks for them, but I’d rather have that be lockable storage than just a quick turn of a knob. I don’t see myself storing anything worthwhile in there, maybe some straps and that’s it.

I agree with hating trim packages. I am a minimalist luddite. If I could opt for crank windows and manual door locks, I probably would. I prefer cloth or vinyl over leather or synthetic leather. But all of the features should be available. I went with the XL and there are three features that ought to be available in the XL and arent:
Cruise control (not adaptive)
Sliding window on back glass (only available with 360 package)
The same Flexbed features as the higher trims (all of the tie down cleats and all of the cubbies)

If you do not have a sunroof/moonroof on your build, there is a spot for sunglasses in the middle-front of the ceiling.

I agree with the other assessments that it is probably there as a result of not being able to source a 12" screen with Sync4 and hope it becomes available to add on later.

My gripes to a T! Mainly because I feel like these should be stand alone add-ons, having nothing in particular to do with luxury, on either lariat or xlt.

I will miss adaptive cruise from my ranger, but not the end of the world. It also doesn't have push button start... Meanwhile that has been standard in many lower or similar cost Ford cars for many years.

My ranger also didn't have the damper, but I'm sure there will be a $30 part soon enough, it was a quick install on my ranger.

I have a Ridgeline (2019) and the trunk is handy, but at the expense of bed height - only 17 inches and a mini spare inside the trunk. I will be getting a Maverick for the extra bed height and a full size spare, along with many other features like an off-road package, interesting color choices, more ground clearance....the advantages of the Maverick far exceed anything the Ridgeline offers.
