Hi, taking delivery of my maverick Wednesday and I saw a few reviews the base sound system leaves a bit to be desired.
Is there a simple speaker direct swap that upgrades the sound a bit without an amp or anything like that? Just looking for direct speaker replacement that I can do myself if there are any available that retain all oem functions.
thanks

There is a search option in the top right corner. This has been covered extensively with multiple threads

Lots of very helpful info on this topic in numerous previous treads. Try a search on speakers, etc and you find probably more than you'll ever want to know

I spent about $250 on speakers and adapters and replaced the stock components with Focal products all around including the ones linked above. The dash tweeters, door speakers and rear speakers were replaced in about 2 hours with no splicing of wires or superhuman effort required. There are a number of YouTube videos that can help with the panel removal. As has been said, there are many threads here on the topic.

op. I’ve tried searching for this and there’s so many threads that ramble that it’s difficult. I’m looking g for some too but I’m wanting to add an amp and sub but I can’t figure this crap out for nothing. Guess I just gotta sit down and read every damn thread in that sub forum

Hi.

The answer is yes and an example was given already.

If you have not previously listened to the sound system in the Maverick, I would
hold off until you do.

We all have different tastes, opinions, and ability to hear certain sounds.

After a year of ownership, I found that in addition to the stereo head unit tuning,
I had to make changes to my music source settings as well (iphone+apple music).

I also found that wired vs. bluetooth makes a difference for me as well.

In my own initial review of the Maverick sound system (non-B&O), I said my previous
daily driver sounded better overall. That is not the case after making adjustments.
Mids and Highs are better now. I only lack low end bass.

Yes, that's great advice.

Of all the cars I've owned, I've had some with great factory audio systems, and one that even sounded so bad I didn't even want to drive the car.

Don't let others tell you what your system sounds like, that's for you to decide once you have it and listen to it. I've done a lot to upgrades my audio (see page 4 of my build thread in my signature), but the Mav's base audio system from the factory is not bad. I expect that most owners would think it sounds pretty good and would have no issues with it.

All I did was replace the front door speakers and it was enough for me, but then again my hearing is kinda shot. Got a set of pioneer 3 way speakers and the job wasn't too hard. Doing the back ones is kind of a PITA IIRC. The sound is much better. Stock speakers are crappy paper cones with tiny magnets. Get something, anything with better cones and bigger magnets and it will sound better. The stock speakers would distort really bad at higher volumes, not that I listen to music and high volumes often but the new ones can handle anything the stock amp can throw at it.
