the Infinity Reference I used in the rear needed fader adjusted forward, because they are crisp and loud.
Definitely don't want that. I still have fade set to the rear about 3/4 with the Pioneers to hear them at all.
I just ordered the Morels from Crutchfield and will install them Thursday. Will return the Pioneer if I like the Morels.

I have my fader moved to the front 2 ticks to balance them out some; I prefer the rear bias sound. they are very vocal

I ended up going the hertz dcx100.3 for the rears as I got them for a amazing price.
But main reason I went with those is the tweeter on them is pei material so they would pair with fabric or a metal dome tweeter and match pretty well

I used the Infinity Reference 4" coax bought cheap on ebay to match my Infinity's in front. They are a definite improvement.

The clips holding the plastic tabs in are awful. Don't bend the plastic tabs. They will break. The metal clips can be mangled then bent back in shape and reused. They hold on to the plastic tab using sharp little fangs that can bend get the tab out. It is okay. The outside bigger tabs should pop out a slot if you can push the panel up then pull out as is intended.

I just installed the Morrel Maximo Coax 4 and I am super happy with them. I used adapter 72-5600 from Crutchfield. Worked perfect.
They sent that adapter with my Morel 4" I received today. It does not fit my Lariat Lux rear speaker connection. No worries as I already cut and spliced the wires installing the Pioneer g400's last week.

Wondering if the wiring is the same on the rears with B&O vs standard Lariat/XLT. I used the gray with purple stripe as Positive, tried as negative and it didn't sound right.
Also wondering if the rears are going through a crossover on the B&O. Still not loud unless volume is turned over 25.
Only thread I found said gray/purple was Positive at first, then they said it was Negative?

I was wondering the exact same thing. I also saw the grey/purple could positive or negative. I've been looking for the correct info and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

The Morels sound great, using grey/purple as Positive. Quite a bit better than the Pioneer g400's, worth the extra $40.

Glad I returned the Pioneers, luckily the rears aren't too difficult to replace.

I am sure there are MANY combinations that would sound nice....so what I'm sharing here isn't necessarily the best for everyone...but it sure fits my bill! I had my speakers replaced by a professional shop here in the Orlando area and he asked me what types of music I enjoyed so he could tailor his recommendations for my "likes". I grew up heavily involved in brass ensemble while in school and so I have an appreciation for classical music featuring the brass and if there's a pipe organ to go with it all the better. Camille Saint Saens (CSS) famously said, "If the orchestra is the "King" of instrumentation...then the pipe organ is the "Emperor!" BTW...If you've ever visited the France pavilion at Epcot, the music they play during "Impression de France" when you're boarding the elevators to go to the top of the Eifel tower is CSS's Symphony #3 which features a strong pipe organ that will put ANY sub woofer to the test. It is indeed a POWER CHORD of immense proportion. At any rate....I'm also a child of the 60's/70's so I also enjoy some Classic Rock.
Based on that he recommended Focals. Very bright and clear...even at high volume. For the sub he suggested a 10" Kicker with 300W amp under the back seat.

I picked up the 3-way Rockford-Fosgate for the fronts, based on the comments/complaints about the stock speakers, but I have not had time to install them yet.
A few notes on the stock speakers:
  • I get the best sound when using the USB jack and Android Auto.
  • The stock speakers seem to have 'broken-in' and have a fuller sound then when it was new. I now have 2500 miles.
Any comments on the 3-way RF's?
