Thinking about upgrading the speakers in my Maverick. I did this in my Bronco and it made a world of difference. Has anyone else just upgraded the speakers and had a good result? If so what kind of speakers did you get to replace the stock speakers? Thanks in advance for your answers.

I asked the exact same question a couple months ago , got a zillion answers .
A new couch , and new carpet put that project on hold for now . But I did learn a lot .
I think the best option is to look at Crutchfield on-line cataloging .
You'll get plenty of options and pricing all specific for your vehicle .
They ship with any adapters and pigtails required for DIY install .
Plenty of reviews available on every choice , or ...let your wallet decide ....

Good hunting !

And the general consensus is don't bother with the rear speakers , they require a whole lot of interior disassembly .

I upgraded fronts, top of dash, rear Cpillars and a behind the seat powered subwoofer. HUGE improvement!! Plenty of videos on YouTube for assistance. I have zero rattles, and sound that is a 150% improvement over the terrible speaker choice that Ford selected for the XL/XLT's. I first updated the front doors and dash tweeters. Easy to do, if you are leery just watch the video's online. The 4" rears are virtually useless, I updated those and was shocked how vocals were so much clearer. Now there are dozens of opinions, so read them all then act. Crutchfield is a great choice for our trucks. I used a Powerbass system for the fronts, these are a direct OE engineered bolt in. I went with Kicker DSC40's for the C pillar replacements, then added a powered sub behind the rear seat. All in was around $380 for parts. Absolutely love the sound, enough bass to send rumbles through the doors and even my rear-view mirrors!! Sorry negative nellies, ZERO rattles!!! I did add sound deadening in my front doors, the regulator module and the inner sheet metal. Also added some behind my sub. Did that for my '22 XLT. Yes, world of difference! What I did discover was that the front door panels are NOT bass friendly. There are so many loose parts that make up the door panel that resulted in lots of rattling. That required removing the panels 3x before I got them all. The rear pillar speakers are not as bad to replace as some say. For my '22 there was no mention that the bottom of the pillar speaker cover is actually attached with a magnet.

Careful not to overload the factory amp with speakers that have a high watt rating. I consulted with a Crutchfield guy and he pointed that out. The Maverick factory non B&O speakers are rated at 25w. The tech pointed out that high watt speakers expect higher power. I chose speakers rated at about 60w peak max and was not disappointed. The Ford factory speakers have an integrated capacitor to cut back the low frequencies. I'll assume to keep the panels from rattling. My goal was to get a coaxial speaker to boost the highs as well as lows. The front are Kenwood and rear are Rockford Fosgate. I see your sub in the list. I do still have the 400w version of this on my list. Not convinced I need this yet.

I added sections of 1/4" thick sound deadening where I could on mine, I didn't want to remove the window module. Big difference, no rattles!

Crutchfield was very helpful to me. I just wanted to go with the simple and basic; replacing the door speakers. Crutchfield knew which speakers would fit the limited space/depth of the Maverick’s doors and guided me to a number of options. My first choice was a pair of Kenwoods (because of the low price). However, they did not quite do it for me. The next choice (a little more expensive) was a pair of Morels. They sound great to me and I am very pleased with them. Good luck to you in making your choices.

Yes if you upgrade the factory speakers with aftermarket it will be a big difference in sound quality.

Then if you like down the road you can add a aftermarket subwoofer either a compact kicker hideaway behind the rear seat or one in a custom enclosure on the left or right side under the rear seat in the storage area and mount the amp behind the seat.

I upgraded the dash tweeters in front door speakers with Hertz components and the rear pillar speakers with kickers than I added a aftermarket kicker 10-in shallow mount sub in a box under the passenger storage compartment in my Alpine amp behind the seat on the cab wall.

Made a world of difference compared to the OEM crap speakers. If you have a little extra time and a little extra cash it helps to put sound damping material inside the doors in anywhere else you feel like taking the time to put it on the interior.

I just did some JL Audio c1s (Silk Option) and am very happy with them. They are a big upgrade from the factory speakers. There are other options out there and if you are just doing a speaker upgrade as I did, these are a good fit. They fit in the doors perfectly and the tweeters are a little more challenging to fit. My installer ended up installing them within the existing dash cover and they look great. I wouldn't bother with the speakers in the back unless you are adding an Amp.

I am replacing the front door speakers only, from what I have read the rears are a pain with not much gain. I talked to a very helpful guy at Crutchfield, since I am not adding an amp he recommended these and I have them on my list for Santa:
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R607FSL/Infinity-Reference-REF607FSL-shallow-mount.html?tp=105
I just picked up a set of these from Crutchfield but I haven't had a chance to install them yet. I've read several positive reviews on various Mav groups though, so I'm excited.
