The headline on Ford Authority that got my attention read:

Ford Maverick This is what Ford should produce in the Maverick 1707939491401
Back in early 2021, the Ford Ranger MS-RT (for M-Sport Road Technology) debuted in Europe as a pretty unique and sporty offering inspired by the automaker’s global rally racing efforts. That particular variant managed to carve out its own niche in the region, and was joined by the Ford Transit Custom MS-RT as well. As Ford Authority reported yesterday, The Blue Oval just revealed a new Transit Custom MS-RT based on the redesigned version of that van, and it will once again be joined by an also-new version of the Ford Ranger MS-RT, too.

Developed in conjunction with MS-RT – an offshoot of Ford’s rally partner, M-Sport – the new Ford Ranger MS-RT continues the trend set by the outgoing model as a utilitarian yet sporty vehicle capable of making even mundane tasks like hauling things a bit more fun. On the outside, that’s quite evident by its many unique features that include a front fascia inspired by racing versions of the Ranger, a honeycomb grille, integrated front spoiler, exclusive diamond-cut 21-inch wheels with low-profile tires, flared wheel arches, MS-RT graphics, side skirts, a cab spoiler, rear ducktail spoiler, and a unique rear bumper with an integrated diffuser.

That sporty theme continues inside the cabin, where the Ford Ranger MS-RT is equipped with unique seats that feature more supportive bolstering covered in vegan leather and suede, blue stitching, MS-RT badging, and a sculpted sports steering wheel with a blue 12 o’clock marker and MS-RT branded inlay.

Sitting 40mm lower thanks to its specially-tuned sport suspension, the Ranger MS-RT also has a 40mm wider track to improve handling prowess. It works in tandem with the turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 diesel powerplant, which generates 240 PS (238 horsepower) and 600 Nm (443 pound-feet) of torque, which flows to all four wheels via the 10-speed automatic transmission and Ford’s e4WD full-time four-wheel drive system. European customers can order both the Transit Custom MS-RT and Ford Ranger MS-RT from Ford Pro dealers right now, with the first deliveries expected to begin in mid-2024.
We’ll have more on the Ford Ranger MS-RT soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Ranger news and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.

I love the street look that the front fascia, honeycomb grille, integrated front spoiler, diamond-cut 21-inch wheels with low-profile tires, flared wheel arches, MS-RT graphics, side skirts, cab spoiler, rear ducktail spoiler, and the rear bumper with an integrated diffuser. Reminds me of the S-10 Extreme back in the day. I also love the color of the interior and the actual seating.

Yep, Ford needs to produce an all wheel Maverick street machine with say 300+ HP. That's about the only thing that I can think of that would make me sell my XL and order a new one.

Easy enough to lower and chip an AWD EB Mav versus adding AWD and phev option to a hybrid Mav.
Basically Ford should build something that we can't easily and cheaply do aftermarket.

To be fair, Ford can get it done cheaper than we can, that's the beauty of economies of scale, and having supplier connections. Making it cheaper, and better than what we can do with aftermarket, while having a warranty to boot. So I could see the appeal in some sort of maverick st putting out 300 hp or more.

I absolutely love my hybrid lariat too, but pro power on board, cooled seats, sync 4, 4wd, longer bed and some other nicer touches would be nice/useful.

I was planning to get an F150 Rattler Powerboost, but MPG is “atrocious”.

Of course, if it’s $80k there is no way in hell I would buy that lol

Ford listens to nobody, not even to their mothers 😂

I think we can count on Ford delivering several Maverick derivatives. Because they'll generate tons of profit. The Tremor looks like just the start of what's coming down the road. When you build enthusiast limited editions, you're basically minting money.

Wasn't it Jim Farley who recently said something like, "We don't want customers, we want fans"? Fans open their wallets wide and throw money at you. Customers (as you can tell from this forum) are stingy with their dollars.

Well, I like the seats.

I'll take my Mav as is. Very nimble, very good in traffic and the highway, and great utility.

A diesel engine in a vehicle meant to go fast is dumb. All they did here is make it heavier.

Yeah, and fan(boys) are typically blind to the product's shortcoming as they sling that money. The perfect customer, they'll defend their purchase stranded on the side of the road if given the chance.

I love it, but until Ford can meet demand, where's the incentive to be build ANY variations at this point? It's not difficult to imagine King Ranch/ Platinum/ STX variations as well, but again: why invest in all of that when you can't meet the demand for what's already out there?
