That's not the current Ruby Red that Ford is offering. Maybe it's the lighting or the way the camera read the color, but that's practically orange or bronze.
I'm surprised that there are ANY dealers in FL that charge NO fees to buy a vehicle from them. If there truly are no fees, than they must be charging over MSRP. And even if they do waive the "dealer fee," what about mandatory protection plans, electronic registration fees, VIN etching, etc...?
"Personal" would be a private message between you and me, that only we can read. An open post on a forum that all 34,184 members can see and read is anything BUT personal. I think if you re-read your response in that light, you'll understand why I responded the way I did.
And none of those conditions would EVER apply to some of the other people reading this? Thank you for informing the rest of us that the universe revolves around you.
I was in the car business for many years, so here's my take:
There was a time when one bought an extended warranty to pay for all the things that were going to go wrong with a low-quality product. You avoided the cost of an extended warranty by buying a vehicle with a high reputation for...
I'm just sitting here, with my jaw down on my desk, trying to figure out how to reply to all this. I will say... I think that "dealer in Kansas" was trying to tell you that there is a wrong way and a right way to EQUIP the truck you order. There is only one way to "order" a Ford truck. It might...
1) the air gets stale, especially if you're a smoker. 2) windows will fog up, even ice up in the winter in the colder climates. 3) Try wearing contact lenses in recirculate mode; they dry out and it feels like your eyes are full of sand.
Well, that goes against my 40+ years of experience and training in the automotive business, but I'm willing to give the "recirculate" button a try and see what happens. As for that last sentence... really? When using A/C in my home or vehicle, I can't imagine being stupid enough to try it with...
I live in the Tampa Bay area, and almost never use the recirculate; too many downsides. The only time I turn it on is when I can see construction up ahead with lots of dust and dirt.
I'm surprised at the number of responses where they drive 100% of the time in recirculate mode. Granted, it might improve mpg slightly (via better aerodynamics), but I don't see where it overcomes the drawbacks. Driving all the time in recirculate makes very dry, stale air in the cabin. (For...
Like the post previous to mine said, there were no real horsepower upgrades, just heavy-duty equipment. (From what I've read over the years, the 4.6 DOHC from a Continental or Mark VIII will fit quite easily under the hood of the Town Car, just some time-consuming wiring harness changes.) My...
When I worked for Ford it was possible to get almost everything they added to PIs in a civilian vehicle if you knew what to order. The Ride and Handling Package on a Crown Vic or Grand Marquis, for example, or (my personal favorite) The Ride Control Package or Touring Edition on the Lincoln Town...
It's just Dad and me and he pulls into the local ARCO station for a fill-up of his all-time favorite car, our '57 DeSoto. I'm not paying much attention (daydreaming I'm sure, like I still do), and before the poor attendant can even get out the door we're FLYING out onto the highway, gravel...
I don't understand why these people don't just "push the button" to see what happens. Are we afraid of blowing up the truck, or launching ICBMs headed for Moscow? Honestly, what could go wrong?
I have the Motorola MA1 Wireless Car Adapter. It takes 10-30 seconds to hook up, and you can't plug in the phone to charge until the adapter recognizes my phone; otherwise it works fine.
It has nothing to do with reliability any more; extended warranties are a hedge against inflation. I bought a 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid Limited in 2021, paid about $2,200 for a near bumper-to-bumper extended warranty. Within 6 months it needed a new steering rack and several electronic...
To each his own, I guess. As long as he doesn't live next door to me.
As to those you-know-what's hanging from the trailer hitch... really? I mean, I thought you had to be at least 16 years of age to own a motor vehicle.
