It looks like a camera. It's angled like a camera.
They can call it a sensor all they want, but my vote is camera.

That is not lost on me.I mean... A camera is a sensor...
When you open up Ford pass and your exact mileage is shown along with your tire pressures and how long that it has been since you had the oil changed it makes me wonder. Pray to God that you don’t ever get caught in a solar flare event. The trucks will never move agai. That's Big Brother. He's always watching... listening... tracking.
Just don't do anything wrong.
Chips in my Moderna vaccine already do that. When I wander away from the home, my wife calls Bill Gates, he checks his laptop . . . presto the attendents know where I am.That's Big Brother. He's always watching... listening... tracking.

It is part of the anti theft system, if equipped you can go into settings and select which sensors to use, etc. It is clearly stated in manual to not activate the anti theft sensor with someone or something inside the cabin that can move.I started a thread on this because I also believe it is the Perimeter Alarm Motion sensor for the XLT/Lariat. However it does not appear to be enabled, or even in the System menu to enable it.
The additional Perimeter Plus Alarm for $215 is a shock sensor, doesn't mention motion sensors, and isn't even mentioned in the Maverick Manual.

I could be wrong, but it appears this Perimeter Alarm with Interior Sensors/Inclination Sensors is supposed to come with the XLT/Lariat but was not enabled by FORD. Maybe possible in a future update or with Forscan?
Yeah, I found out last year this doesn't apply to the Maverick. There are no interior sensors. It is part of the anti theft system, if equipped you can go into settings and select which sensors to use, etc. It is clearly stated in manual to not activate the anti theft sensor with someone or something inside the cabin that can move.
I bet you thought this issue was dead. I have read through all of the threads regarding the "missing interior sensors". Your posts are very well written and informative. I had decided not to use Forscan to enable certain features because it appears you are correct. However, today while sitting in my truck waiting for someone I looked up and could clearly see where the four interior sensors would be if they were installed. The picture below shows four "grid" areas that the sensors would be installed. The next two pictures are from a Ford F150 and definitively show that the sensors can be placed behind these small "grids" in the overhead console. Before I investigate further, I just wanted to know if you have pulled out the console to see for yourself.Yeah, I found out last year this doesn't apply to the Maverick. Wonder if they finally removed this from the 2024 manual?
Update: I removed the overhead console. You can clearly see where the sensors would be attached but they are not there. To be fair, Ford never implied the presence of any interior sensors or anti-theft system in any of their marketing literature, ordering guides, window stickers or packaging guides. They always used the words "Perimeter Alarm" and "Securilocks".I bet you thought this issue was dead. I have read through all of the threads regarding the "missing interior sensors".
