Last night on the way back from work I hit a six point buck. He jumped the ditch and I caught his back end with the front drivers side of my maverick. I’ve had the maverick 11 months and put on 27,000 miles. I plan to take to a Ford approved collision center. Let me know if you have any other tips, I have submitted a claim to my insurance and am waiting to hear back. I’ve heard parts take awhile to receive and are expensive. Any guesses on what this is going to cost to repair? I’m expecting a new bumper and headlight at minimum. The gap between the hood and fender also have me concerned there could be more.

Sorry to hear this. Whatever you do, don't clean off any deer forensics as your insurance will try to verify it was a deer.

Almost had a similar strike last week, but as I slowed the artificial noise maker kicked on, the dear's head tilted, it turned around, and ran the other way. - Just maybe, the noise generators on the Hybrid act as a deer whistle, or are close enough to their ears.

That's actually pretty minimal damage for a deer strike, you got lucky! Best guess would be around $5200-$5500 all said and done, depending upon the shop and if the replace or repair the bumper. (I'm assuming there's no other damage not in the photo).

My step-daughter's '19 Escape was just deemed a total on Thurs, for what would have been a repair a couple years ago. Costs of bod work & parts have skyrocketed.

I've never hit a deer. I did hit a turkey many years ago. My 6 month old Norton Commando was 1700.00(ish, can't remember)and the hospital bill was around 15k. Price on vehicles and hospitals has risen considerably since 77. Glad you have no need for the hospital.

Pretty much had the same thing happen about 2 months after delivery. Same spot and everything. Didn't look too bad from the outside, but there was a lot of internal damage including a bent radiator. I think it came out to around $9k worth of damage. Even with parts availability, I had it back within 2 weeks, so not too bad. I'm sorry this happened, I feel your pain. Shouldn't be as bad as you may think though. Hopefully insurance covers it!

Deer are just large rats IMO. In PA, deer hits are constant. My son hit one that jumped a guardrail while he was on the way to work. Totaled his car that only had 28K miles on it. I hate deer.

Hey neighbor! My wife hit one (on Dinnerbell Rd) in our 2019 Outback last week. Just got the repair estimate today: $10,260. Airbags are a big part of that. Hooved rats.

Hey neighbor! I live off of Dinnerbell. It's a bad road for deer hits. Several open fields. I hit a deer January 2018 with my 3,000 mile old Jeep. It jumped the guardrail on 228. I had just turned off of 8 onto 228 heading to Cranberry. $4200 in damage. In October 2018 i hit one with my Toyota on Brewer rd. in Clinton. $3500 in damage to that one.
BTW, my Maverick that i ordered in Sept 2022 just showed up and i picked it up yesterday at Shults in Harmarville. Cactus Gray (i had originally ordered A51) hybrid XL

Glad you didn't get the A51, that's what mine is! Plus I've seen two others in the area. We also live off of Dinner Bell, but have a Butler address. This was my wife's first deer, but I'm still up 2-1!

I always loved A51 and was not happy when i didn't get my 2023 and they discontinued it. I was considering the Blue or Cactus gray and decided on Cactus. I really like it and have gotten compliments already. I like colors that stand out. My Renegade is hyper green and my previous Toyota was yellow. (maybe you saw one of them on dinnerbell or around Saxonburg?). I live close to Saxonburg, so i have a Saxonburg address. Have you gone to the mingles on main in Saxonburg? My wife and I take our fun cars there every month.
