Cost to fix a damaged front bumper and headlight on Maverick?

heck,I don't think its that bad(unless there is structural damage)-its plastic(can be plastic welded)get the $4K check from insurance,put it back together yourself and WAIT for parts.paint might be a pain and I know we all like a perfect truck,but looks like you are on the losing end.Would like to see a picture from front

I've done that before. Worked out well. Not for this kind of money though. They did put some some stuff on the bill I never thought of, like the ECM. And toe truck guy said the LF wheel was out of wack, Didn't think of that this time, probably the thought that it's less than six months old. And I don't have the energy I had many years ago, ( feels like I went to school with Abe Lincoln some mornings) I just said take it.

Here's my thoughts on this situation. (Please don't hate me) why would you want to pay for the repair on your own? You have a new truck, with a factory warranty that may be voided if Ford finds out you had work done elsewhere, where it was not reported somewhere. It will show up when you have a problem, when your truck is in their shop. Let the insurance company deal with it, and have Ford do the repair. It's basically a fender bender, and the insurance company will deal with it as miner.

I had no idea the entire headlight had to be replaced - I'm REALLY happy now I bought the bulb coverage when I bought my extended warranty - zero deductible to fix most anything.

Insurance is purchased for this exact situation.

My current six month policy only costs $184.83 + $0.042 per mile (Allstate Milewise) and the deductible for this type of accident is only $200 ($500 - $300 Safe Driving Reward) and has a "First Accident Forgiveness" so it would be no issue for me to file a claim.

That's what concerns me. I want my truck. If they total it for lack of parts I think I'll try to buy it back from the Insurance company. Not sure how that works all together, but I'd hate to loose the truck.

If you car is totaled and you choose to keep it instead of being "cashed out" by the insurance company then ur car will have a salvage title and you'll still be on the hook for repairs.

Insurance usually only totals it out if it's more to repair than the value of the car in the local market. Repair estimate was $3-4k while cars of my year and mileage were selling for $7-8k at the time.

Agreed. The Maverick has pretty good value rn. Unless it's a hard hit causing the engine to move or quarter panel needing to be replaced then I don't see it totaling that easily. And if it does, you'll still get a decent amount from the insurance company since the car is holding a strong value above market value.
