How Much Does a Light Rear End Damage Cost to Repair?

After 3 months of owning my third Maverick I was rear ended at a stoplight. There have been quite a few threads showing similar damage but I thought I would give you the breakdown in costs I was given. The little truck did its job and I had zero pain or soreness.

First, the damage.

• It has a small softball sized dent in the rear bumper. Scratches are honestly minimal, but it is a Lobo so paint would be required.
• The frame experienced bending right at the flex point.

Next, the costs.

• Parts = $16,900
• Labor = $8,275
• Material = $750
• Total costs = $25,925 + $1050 just because

Lastly, Insurance decision.

• Totaled
• Insurance payout value = $42125

I wish this didn't happen, but I'm happy all things considered. After owning 3 and driving many more, the 2025 Lobo was absolutely my favorite, but at this point I'm not really sure I want a fourth one.

That's very unfortunate, and expensive. pretty sure every maverick I have seen get alight rear tap, ends up on the totaled list.

I actually read through your thread after the accident. That was the point I started shopping around.

I don't recall reading anywhere that someone did the owner retain option yet. It was a stressful couple months deciding on that and figuring out what all CA DMV required. Just when I thought I was in the clear and had a clean title!!!, DMV sent me forms I needed to fill out and turn in with my title and more money.

I got a great deal on my truck $22,000 "discount"....as long as there are no more surprise manipulation events in it's future.

It states that if I total out for any reason in the first five years I get a new never titled Maverick.
I will trade up right before that expires.

Totaled as others have said. Honestly, I love my truck and can’t get eruption green anymore but if it takes a hit to the rear - I hope it’s totaled and I get a nice check for the payout.

Maybe I’ll get another Mav or maybe it’ll be a Ranger Raptor!!

Erie Insurance.
They Insure big stuff.
No monthly payments. Policy must be paid in full once a year.
They took exceptional care of me when lightening blew through my roof and did $27,000 in damage.
My premiums never went up.

It’s only available on new vehicles and expires at the five year mark.
