Has anyone come up with a way (other than buying a module) for the Maverick hybrid to start-up automatically in ECO mode?
Any help appreciated.

Since you don't want to go the module route.

How about buy out Ford, you can then tell the Ford engineers to "fix" that issue?

You may be able to remove all modes except for ECO mode. If this is possible, it would require ForScan and ForScan programing knowledge.

You may want to rethink the module. I have one. It was easy to install and it works.

Do you have the remote start?

I do not. Except for with the app. When I start with the app, I turn the maverick off then on again with the key to get the module to work.

You can contact the seller/maker with any questions. He is very helpful.

In my experience this did not work. The drive mode selector would start in Eco, but it'd still be functioning as Normal.

The main difference for using Telemachus' MyMavMode module for remote start is it plugs into Fuse 6 and has an in-line fuse instead of plugging into the unused triplex 1/2 slot. 1/2 powers on when remote started, but the vehicle isn't "on enough" to take drive mode inputs at that time. Fuse 6 powers up when the ignition/push-to-start actually gets activated.

I use the eco mode a lot so each time I press the start button I just quickly press the drive mode button 4 times and I am all set. You don't have to wait for the screen to change, It will.

I was thinking of buying this module on EBay but decided I didn't want to mess with factory wiring. I did add a Garmin dash cam recently but that is just two fuse taps, no cutting into factory wiring.
I'm used to hitting the steering wheel ok button twice for vehicle ready and seat belts (I know they time out eventually anyway) So having to hit the mode button a few times to get to Eco is no biggie. YMMV.

One should always be careful when doing electrical mods. Especially on newer vehicles. Almost every wire is an input or output to a control module.

You have to decide based on your comfort level depending on your own knowledge and experience.

Just to let you know: this mod does not require any wire cutting.
Just replace a fuse with a fuse tap and a t-tap on a fairly accessible wire in the wiring harness in the right side of the console.

You decide

I don't like t-taps or scotch locks.

This is another reason we are trying to avoid using the module and any impact it might have on the warranty, etc. I just wish we had a better solution.
