Well, I had to test it. Enabled sport and eco mode.

Sport mode is fun on the EB if you hate fuel economy and "overdrive", and eco mode was basically foot to the floor to get from 0-25 in a quarter mile lol.

I can see why they left these modes out. Sport mode is total overkill for 99% of my driving. In the time it takes to visually take my eyes off the road to find the button then switch to sport mode I could have just floored it and got the same results in normal. But yes... Fun.

I got used to the button position in the Escape, but it's a little further back and lower in the MAV. May take some getting used to? It just seems a bit more awkward.

Steering might have been the tightest I have ever experienced outside of a track car in sport mode. No real complaints there.

Eco mode was bleh. I still have nothing positive to say about it. I got very used to the Escape hybrids normal throttle to push the EV as far as possible and never had an issue with efficiency in normal, but, it could be a different experience in the Maverick Hybrid. Just seems unlikely. Very spongy and borderline felt like limp mode. I'm just going to remove it with forscan, but I'll keep sport for the helluvit.
I love that limp mode feeling!

Maybe it's just an ecoboost thing because it's nothing like it was in the Hybrid Escape. It's REALLY bad in the Ecoboost. I enabled it on the highway and I had to basically floor it just to maintain speed. Not the greatest stretch of highway, but it's worse case scenario and I got way worse fuel mileage than in normal.

My first Maverick was an EcoBoost XL. It had the regular modes that my hybrid does, and eco worked just fine. Maybe it has to do with the gear ratio on the FX4 package?
