No. In Western Colorado electric won't do.

I have no garage, heated or otherwise. EV (and hybrid) batteries don't like -30°F and sometimes even -40°F temps like we see here during our coldest months. EV battery replacement is an expensive proposition. I'm even debating buying hood struts like I want because they would freeze up on me five or six months out of the year!

I agree that the current crop of EVs aren't ready for prime time at this point. I'm not convinced they ever will be.

That said, I was seriously considering a hybrid for the great mileage, but I've gotta have AWD. Another demographic requirement that goes with the snowy country where I reside.

With the ever increasing probability of $20+ per gallon of gas I am considering anything with at least some electrical capability....I at least do not have to worry about carrying a parka and snow shoes.

Not interested in a Maverick EV or any other EV. Why? Price, range, charge time, fire risk, additional weight for battery, battery replacement cost. I could think of other reasons.

Same as most of the other comments.
No to full electric at the moment and yes to plug in hybrid.

I don’t understand the compulsion to go full electric 'because environment' when it's actually worse.
I like the idea of hybrids which IMO give you the best of both worlds, ICE for higher speeds, and electric for low speed, coasting, and idle.

Today California turned on the 10,000th DC fast charger.

Number of refueling stations gasoline and/or Diesel: 10,400

Number of stations with gasoline only: 7997

Last year 1 in 4 cars sold in the state was EV.

And you can keep’em there.
I wonder how much the other 49 states helped pay for this.

NOPE, NOPE,NOPE.....they're gonna have to drag the internal combustion engine outta my cold, old dead hands. F em all. I have gone as far as I'm going by purchasing a hybrid. I might keep an old diesel truck just to slow roll them with some fumes! My guns and my ICEngine...they are not getting!! LMAO

No, I would not buy an EV Maverick for three reason

limited range
Charging time for EVs
Lack of supporting infrastructure.

And how about all the rolling brownouts already taking place in California?

I don’t live in California, so what they do there isn’t relevant. Where I live there are very few charging stations. I know of only one here in WM and that’s at my local dealership. It looks little more than an extension cord poked through a hole in the side of the building.
