I signed up last month for $20. Farm Bureau of Cook County.

I am talking about renewal not the first sign up.

I signed up last year in June for $20.

The renewal form I got in the mail they now want $50 to renew.

Great idea to save $30 and not be able to use a $500 rebate.

You are wrong as I was a member when I ordered my MY23 Maverick and have a valid printed certificate good through 1/2/2024 and as @fordvideoguy Tim states that is all that is required to be able to use the $500 certificate.

I believe You need to be a member in the year you ordered it or the year it comes in. If you were a member in 2022 when ordered the dealer needs to use the protect date for badging the incentive for the farm bureau to show up. If you are a member in 23 but not in 22 then you would want to use the same date for incentives. All 23MY should be delivered before December 2023.

Thanks for the tip. I just renewed online for $20.

The online payment shows additional upcharges of $15, $2.50 and $2.50 could be added.

These charges are optional online but on the renewal form mailed to me they were automatically added to the form along with an additional $10 surcharge bringing the mail in renewal cost to $50.

I am in California, signed up with IL, as IL has the lowest cost to join. And the $500 off worked fine when I picked up my truck from a local dealer here in California.

So you believe I should be OK to not renew my FB membership in 10 days even though I won't take delivery of my order for maybe 30 more days?

I joined in July 22 and had actually printed a certificate to take with me when I placed my order in September 22. The dealer didn't want the certificate at that time. I don't think I still have that certificate, plus the expiration date on that one would have been 1/2/23.

I used another certificate when I bought a Maverick off the lot in March 23.

I have already printed another certificate to use when my ordered hybrid comes in in August 23.

You should be okay but I can't say for sure.

Just got my renewal, membership went from $20 to $33, and mine is set to expire about 8 days before my truck is due to arrive. I read all the certificate fine print and I believe I'm fine EXCEPT it does indeed say "must be an active member." Didn't want to renew, because besides the $500 perk I only ever used the $5 oil change discount. But better safe than sorry when it comes time for delivery, so I renewed.

My certificate has an offer end date of 1/2/2024. But at the bottom, it says it for active FB members. IDK how that applies to a valid certificate printed before the membership expires or is not renewed, but the truck is not delivered until after the membership is not renewed.

@fordvideoguy , do you know how this is handled?

I am willing to renew (I have already used one certificate so I have got my money's worth), but prefer not to if I can get the $500 on the soon to be delivered truck without renewing.

FWIW, I did not renew my FB membership before it expired on 7/31/23 and was able to use the certificate I had already printed on my Maverick that I took delivery of on 8/9/23.

The certificate has an expiration on it and I think it's 1 year after it was issued or you printed it

It's a calendar year certificate. Each state's farm bureau board votes each year to issue or not issue the certificates
