Question on certificate date.

As I understand it, you can purchase your vehicle at the price active at order date or at purchase date. But any discounts need to be active at whichever date (order / purchase) you choose. So they have to match up.

There may be price increases between your order date and purchase date so generally you are best with order date pricing. But this means you need a Farm Bureau certificate that is active at the order date.

I placed 23 orders in September and just requested my certificates. The certificates say, offer ends 1/3/2023. My purchase date will be sometime after 1/3/2023 but since I plan on using order date pricing I should still be able to use these certificates right?

I had asked my dealer the same question, as I was not sure whether I would receive my truck this month or after the new year. I ended up taking delivery on 12/19. However, he indicated that as I was price and incentive protected to my order date, the $500 Farm Bureau rebate would not have been a problem had I taken delivery in January.

It's also worth noting that there is a dealer "exception form" they can submit for expired rebates and such. So, if there would be a problem, it's likely Ford would still honor the rebate in a situation where the only reason you couldn't use it was due to delays in manufacturing and/or shipping.

Good luck with your purchase, and I hope you enjoy your Maverick!

My concern is a certificate issued next year can not be applied to an order date placed this year. And if I use the purchase date next year, the purchase price could go up more than the $500 FB discount.

Maverick prices were already bumped for MY2023 and 2023s are already being built and delivered in 2022, despite the actual Calendar changing tomorrow. I would not expect another price increase for a few more months.

Right, but with Hybrid XL orders, it could be next fall before they are delivered.

Just to review, only costs $20 to join Farm Bureau and you get a $500 discount off almost all Ford trucks, including the Maverick. You can purchase five trucks per certificate. Wanted to be on the safe side regarding the January 3 renewal date so I renewed for 2023. Don’t expect my first Maverick to come in until late February or March. You do not have to be a resident of Illinois, a farmer, or own farmland. You can purchase a Ford in any state. To join, call 309-663-6497 or through their website—

I am more confused. I have YET to join any Farm Bureau . Placed an order On Sept 16 2022 for xlt hybrid. . So if I join a FB come this Jan 2023 can I get the 500 off or not? Sounds like NO. I was going to join the Illinois one as its only 20 bucks even though I am in NY.

But it sounds like I had to be a member 30 days BEFORE Sept 16th the order date ?

You do not. I joined some 60 days after I ordered mine back in June 2021. But I would make sure you have a 2022 join date (so sign up today) because....

A 2022 certificate will be valid if promotions based on order date is selected by the dealer in SmartVincent at delivery. If you haven't already generated a 2022 certificate then you should be able to do so in 2023 by selecting 'already purchased the vehicle' and entering something like your 2022 order date when it asks for purchase date.

Remember that you can choose to take either the rebates/financing at time of order or delivery so if you're only using the FB rebate and not Ford Financing then you could just use a '23 cert. The other circumstance that might require 'time of order' would be if you have a rollover private offer; this is why the rollover private offer certificate having an expiry date of sometime in January probably doesn't really matter.

The web site says "Must be a Farm Bureau member for 30 consecutive days prior to purchase" not prior to ordering. So yes, you can still join FB and get the $500 discount.

The question is, can that $500 discount be applied to the MSRP at time of order or only MSRP at actual purchase. If the MSRP price does not go up it does not matter. But if it does go up more than $500 you could be better off using the original order date instead of the $500 discount on an increased 23 MSRP.

Yes. My understanding is price protection is done through a different system than promos/rebates through SmartVincent anyways.

I had not thought of this. But I just tried and it will not allow you to put in a purchase date of before 30 days after the date you joined Farm Bureau.

Well I signed up today,. so start date 12-31-22 end date 12-31-2023. So it is in 2022 if that is needed. 20 Bucks if it doesn't work no big deal. BUT if it does then GREAT. .

I ordered my EB in January, 2022
It was built 9/29/22. MSRP went up $330 at build date.
I picked mine up in November.
I got mine for price at order date.
I got the low finance rate at time of order (1.9 for 60 months)
I got my $500 FB rebate.
No issues. Smart Vincent showed all of these as available for me.
Take care and best wishes,
Chuck

Can anyone confirm if this is still working in 2023? Also is Illinois still the cheapest state to join in, and is there any problem if you don't just join in your home state. My truck just got scheduled for the end of March, so I have to get on this. Thanks!

I found the new thread. Already joined the Illinois branch. They got a racket going with that low price, probably got quite a few people joining from out of state.
