@Gullzway is referring to Ford's Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) 22B39, which relates to a wiring harness defect on Maverick Hybrid units built through May 13, 2022. If yours is a 2023, it would not be affected by that, and shouldn't have the same issues.

Just got off the phone with my dealer about doing the csp 22B39 harness overlay. Was told if there are no bad harness symptoms, I would be charged for the procedure. I called Ford customer service and they verified that. So my understanding is the truck must fail first to have the overlay done free of charge. Customer satisfaction my ass!

Picked my Maverick XLT hybrid up Yesterday and my salesperson drove me strait to the service desk after we received the message in the app. Service manager gave us the printout attached and asked me to drive it through the weekend and then schedule with service if it doesn't resolve itself within a few days. Also, I tried charging the battery overnight with no luck either.

That dealer needs to read this part of the dealer notice in the other thread. The whole point of the CSP is as a preventative measure. It's so that you never have to experience the vehicle "experience a no-start condition". Ugh, dealers... 🙄

No, you don't need symptoms. You just need to have a VIN on the FSA VIN List, falling within the build date range (July 26, 2021, thru May 13, 2022).

Serious question. I'm a little confused as to why Ford says "Below 9.5 volts" is the worry point, and also states that one should also worry if the BCM reports battery below 50% SOC.

In all my RVing experience, we've been taught that 12.2 volts is the 50% SOC threshold for 12 volt batteries. What am I missing that >9.5V is somehow "ok"?

Charged to 100%, tested and got 13v. Did a battery monitor system reset, started vehicle. Message didn't go away. Unpaired uninstalled, reinstalled, and repaired my Ford pass app, message came back immediately.

Problem persists.

Edit: On the bright side, I did get my 42k Ford pass reward points.
Sorry to hear, Did you follow the manual’s full BMS reset instructions? (Doors locked, leave untouched for several hours, etc.). Although I haven’t received any Deep Sleep issues or the error message since I replaced my battery 3.5 month ago, my recollection is that after the full BMS reset the error message didn’t clear until I drove the car for ~10 minutes.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

It's bizzaro world. Dealer service rep says "gotta see evidence of a problem with that harness connection before we'll fix it for nuthin'." Ford customer liaison person, "Raven" (this is a company person, not a dealer person) concurs.

Doesn't make sense. According to these brainiacs, I have to have the vehicle fail to start in order to get the harness fix done. Which would then happen under warranty anyway. Making the CSP letter useless drivel. It boggles the mind.

Guess I'll try calling the phone # on the back of the CSP letter to see if I can get hold of a sane person. I'll be looking to get something in writing that says I can get the harness overlay done, without pre conditions, at no charge.

I've sadly done this twice with no effect, though I'm going to try a third time because you know, third times the charm. But in the event it doesn't clear up I have a scheduled appointment on the 13th to bring her in to the service department.

Interesting, I just called my dealer as I have an appointment scheduled for Wednesday for the wiring harness CSP. They said as long as you're under 36,000 mi it's 100% covered.
Though I'm not sure why mileage would make a difference if this is a CSP.

It shouldn't. The program terms literally states 'There is no mileage limit for this program.'

It wouldn't. The dealer thinks that it would be a B2B warranty (36 mo/36k mi) claim, whereas CSPs and recalls are not warranty claims. So long as your VIN is on the list/you received the letter, you're covered through June 30, 2024. Unlimited miles. The duration is just because they want to get it done and over with, and it's not a recall so they can put in a cutoff like that.

I just got the recall last week. Taking it in this week. The service dept at my dealership didn’t know about it. There was a thread last year about this battery harness.

I just bought my Maverick Hybrid on the 16th, and picked it up three days ago. Paired Ford pass to it at the dealership and saw the deep sleep in message, I cannot use any remote functions. But nothing seems off about the truck, so I don't know what to do. I did a few BCM resets, tested the voltage on the battery after it set overnight and it was 12.3v.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate, should I hit the dealership up right away?
We've had this issue over and over again with our 22 Maverick Lariat Eco-Boost. Most people advised us to get a battery tender, even the Service Tech at the dealership. We hooked up a battery tender to it but it didn't seem to make any difference. My husband thinks the solution is for Ford to do a recall and install a better battery!

Last night (late on 7/5/23) I received updates to the Ford Connect app on both my Android devices. After that update my S9 properly showed the truck as not in deep sleep and remote functions worked. The S21+ worked once, then went back to deep sleep status. Uninstalling and reinstalling the application appears to have fixed it as well. I was able to remote start the truck this morning.

Details: 2023 Lariat FX4 Ecoboost that showed the deep sleep banner on the app from pickup at the dealer, but otherwise had no symptoms of actually being in deep sleep mode. All lights worked as expected, etc.

God. The oil. I still can't fathom 10k miles for an oil change, but I realize it's a hybrid so it makes sense, but daaaaaaamn...
Just wait & see how many miles before you need to change the brake pads, etc.
