Am flat towing my Maverick, and often receive a message from Ford Pass about deep sleep. On several, but not all occasion, have had to use the jump box to get things going. The last time upon arrival at RR Park the Mav was dead. After jumping, the message screen indicated vehicle was in flat to mode, but it wasn't. Nothing I could do to clear it. The vehicle did, however operate normally.
Drove Maverick to Ford dealership near Cincinnati to diagnose the electronic issue. Service Advisor was reluctant to look at it, saying they were covered in work. After I explained the issue, he stated the problem was something associated with towing. I explained I had already towed it 2,000 miles without issue until 4 days ago. (at that time in Indiana, the local Ford dealer stated during a telephone conversation that an SSM 51725 would resolve the 'Deep Sleep' issue I had experienced, however they were near closing at the time.)
During the check-in process, I offered to show Service Manager the many fault messages in Ford Pass reporting low voltage, but he declined to look at them. When talking to the tech, he explained it was an electronic glitch caused by low voltage in the auto battery. His fix was to disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes. They would not honor the warranty nor replace the battery. They did, however charge me $185.
Service performed to include road test, all operated normally. Drove back to campground in the rain.
Not a happy camper!
