We love the Maverick (late December 2021 build) although are beginning to feel like Ford enrolled us in the officially sanctioned Ford Recall of the Month club.

The only company that sends us more letters is American Express trying to convince us to sign up for their crap cards.

I tried (and succeeded) in finding the positives in the delays. My 2021 order for a 2022 was scheduled for an October 2022 build. It got cancelled.

In return, I got a year newer 2023 built in January 2023. I got free NAV that is identical in function to my Transit and C-Max. I got to choose a decent interior instead of the shoe-color "inspired" Lariat interior with the new for 2023 BAP.

And now I see that Alto Blue is being discontinued for 2024, so my Alto Blue/BAP is now going to be a 1-year rarity. It was a painful, but somewhat expected wait, but all came out well.
Did not know Alto Blue was being discontinued. I love mine and it is a shame they are dropping it. Where did you get that information?

In the Ford memo somewhere here in MTC where the changes were discussed...colors, packages. Sorry I don't remember exactly which thread.

If I was as angry at Ford as some posters here seem to be, I’d cancel my order, get my deposit back, and buy something else. My dealer was honest up front that it would probably be close to a year, at best, when I ordered in September ā€˜22. I’ll wait for a Maverick as long as it takes. There’s nothing else out there with the same features and price point as my XL hybrid. I do have sympathy for the people who have to buy a truck quickly. There’s almost no way to get a Maverick quickly and anywhere close to MSRP.
We literally bought our maverick at MSRP and after waiting 3 weeks without having to place an order. Go through Larry H. Miller of other widely respected dealerships. It's hard to find them, but not impossible.

Yeah, I’ve heard about Bigfoot sightings, but I’ve never seen him myself. Just kidding. I went through the process of trying to find one within 300 miles. No luck, and I really didn’t want to fly across the country. I found a few, but nothing near MSRP…plus, I can afford to wait. My old 2011 Ranger 4x4 is still in top shape. Less than 95K miles.

I had to tell my dealer that the ordering window was open in September 2022 (info from here) but then they did their job and ordered correctly including my email address so I got all of the notices from Ford. When I decided to change color they did that correctly also. They told me when I ordered they had no leftover orders from 2021 and I ordered an Ecoboost so I was somewhat confident I would get my truck. Took about 6 months which is what I expected. Very happy with it so far.

yep, my dealer didn't blow smoke either

I think most are well aware of the wait. The vast majority of the "angry" customers were screwed by their dealers having the price change months to a year after initial order. Seems a lot like theft to me and understanbly makes people upset. I get that some people have a good dealers doing the right thing but there's a shit ton of dishonest dealers and something should be done. The bad dealers should at least split the " market adjustment " with the customer they stole it from seeing as it wouldn't be on their lot had they not ordered it..

Good points but it doesn't absolve buyers from doing their due diligence. how many times have we read of buyers not getting an agreement on paper? How many time does COVP need to be explained? How many times - you're buying from a dealer not Ford?
There are enough shady dealers out there that the adage "the costumer is always right" becomes "let the buyer beware" out of necessity. None of us likes it but it is what it is. Every state has laws protecting their constituents (in this case dealers) to varying extent from Ford, GM etc oversight. Too bad there are not better laws addressing breach of contract to protect the consumer from dealer theft.

This is my very first Ford product. When I ordered in October of 2021, I knew this would be popular and the Sales Manager told us 6 months to a year based on what they had seen with the Bronco. I too got on with my life and did not discover this forum until the following summer.

I was fine doing the rollover order to MY23 and the private offer certainly helped. When things started going sideways was when the VINs were cancelled at the end of last year and pushing those back on the order banks and realizing Ford switched back to an allocation selection model. At that point, there was no way for my dealership could tell me when I might be selected for production.

I certainly got discouraged early spring that I may not win the Ford VIN lottery after waiting 18 months. But it happened and after 20 months of waiting our Maverick is in route. The last hurtle awaits me at the dealership upon delivery to ensure no shenanigans. But I am glad that I waited it out.

When I ordered my Maverick on Sept 15th the dealer said if you want to see this truck do not order the Hybrid. I placed my Eco Boost order and it was a code 19.
It was built on 6-21 -23 and was shipped on the 22nd.
Dealer knew what he was talking about but he may have been off by a month.

Yep, our dealer also was telling folks placing new MY23 hybrid orders that they may not get filled. But we were told rollover orders from MY22 would get priority and would get built for MY23. So ordering an EcoBoost cut about a year off your wait time, when compared to me. (y)

Agreed, unfortunately protections usually go to he who "donates" the most money. Hopefully the saying "don't bite the hands that feeds you" comes to fruition. We as a community need to out these dealers and stop doing business with them.

I wanted that Alto Blue for our 2nd Maverick. sigh
