If I was as angry at Ford as some posters here seem to be, I’d cancel my order, get my deposit back, and buy something else. My dealer was honest up front that it would probably be close to a year, at best, when I ordered in September ‘22. I’ll wait for a Maverick as long as it takes. There’s nothing else out there with the same features and price point as my XL hybrid. I do have sympathy for the people who have to buy a truck quickly. There’s almost no way to get a Maverick quickly and anywhere close to MSRP.

same here. was told it would take a while. I said thanks to MTC I know it can take up to a year or maybe longer. What I didnt know was that my dealer put every one of the "peasants" orders at a 19, and all the close contacts/friends/family and big spenders at low priority codes. Meaning I never had a chance. But now I hope the rollovers cant be skipped ahead and I skip all the friends/family/big spenders

I knew exactly what I was getting into from sources like this forum, and my dealer was also very clear that there were no guarantees of any kind on timeframe or even that I would get one. But it is the internet after all, so complaining is a sport for some.

I tried (and succeeded) in finding the positives in the delays. My 2021 order for a 2022 was scheduled for an October 2022 build. It got cancelled.

In return, I got a year newer 2023 built in January 2023. I got free NAV that is identical in function to my Transit and C-Max. I got to choose a decent interior instead of the shoe-color "inspired" Lariat interior with the new for 2023 BAP.

And now I see that Alto Blue is being discontinued for 2024, so my Alto Blue/BAP is now going to be a 1-year rarity. It was a painful, but somewhat expected wait, but all came out well.

I ordered in September like everyone else. My salesperson said 6-8 months delivery…..maybe he knew the deal, maybe that was his best available information. If he was more communicative, it wouldn’t be as annoying but as it stands it takes me calling him at least 3 times before he will call back. I don’t think it would have changed anything but at least I would have known going in. Wonder what my entry level truck will cost in 2024.
On the positive, maybe there will be less recalls with the 24…

I was well aware of the possible and likely delays when I put in my order. If I wasn't scheduled before next year, I was going to dip out and do exactly that, purchase another truck like the F150, Silverado, etc.

My salesman stays in touch with me better than FMC. I’ve had 2 “45 day” letters since November. My salesman calls every month. When I placed my order in September ‘22 the salesman said “6 months to a year….probably closer to a year”.

If you ordered in Sept of last year there is a good chance you will see it soon. Most orders that went in between 9-16 to 9-19 are being built and delivered now..assuming you don't have constrained parts. You also should have check other dealers like Chapman Ford, PA (for NE folks) since they are below invoice price on their sales. I waited 9 months for a Lariat and it is on its way to the dealer today.

When I ordered on 9/17/22 my only hope was to get a truck sometime in 2023. My order scheduled to be built the week of 7/31/23 and I'd say mission accomplished. What I don't understand is why Ford still hasn't built some rollover orders that were ordered in 2021. That would piss me off.

Unless your dealer is out of allocations (See LM and their Maverick spigot getting turned of already) in which case, you're screwed.

Ford has not committed to building every order that can be physically assembled in the next several months. They've made noise and said a bunch weasel words while dancing around the idea but there's nothing from them outright as of yet stating it. I would not be surprised at all if there are EB's that could be built but aren't in favor of Dealer stock orders to keep the production line flowing in October.

Mostly because the dealers did not all prioritize those 2022 Rollover orders over all of their new orders (like from their buddies) as Ford instructed them.

When Ford cancelled my 2021 order that already had a VIN, FORD did the prioritizing on my reorder and it was scheduled right away, in the first round of scheduling in 12/22. Hopefully, Ford will now maintain more control of the old orders from 2021 that got screwed over by their dealers in that rollover fiasco as they go into the 2023-2024 rollover process. I know, allocations were also part of the picture, but still all 2021 orders should have been built by now had the dealers done as they were instructed.

Same here. I ordered in Nov of 21 and when I asked about the timing the dealer looked me in the eye, shrugged, and said "It could be 6 weeks, 6 months, a year... I really can't give you and answer." So I ordered, got on with my life, and a year and 4 days later drove my Maverick home. Never once did my blood pressure rise due to the wait.
