What don't you like about your Maverick?

But I agree with your other points. Also the paint quality is suspect, I got a paint chip in the hood literally within the first 10 minutes of driving it off the lot.

Paint durability is my main complaint. No others though, this EB truck rocks.

Also for people bitching about the sound: I've heard it's better than a Ford (old school/real) Ranger so you guys must he spoiled

If you want to improve the sound, from the standard system, set it for driver only. This setting makes a significant difference! Rock on!

Sorry you had to read all these negative posts, that must be really hard for you. Perhaps the mods could add a Trigger Warning tag on threads like this for those that can't handle any negative mentions.

Water comes in after opening the rear door after a rain. Apple CarPlay is glitchy. Those are my only real gripes. Small in the grand scheme of things.

I'm 4 months and 5k miles into owning mine and my list is

1. It does this thing when my phone is on the wireless charger for a bit, the wireless charging activated banner comes across the top and never goes away. I don't know if this is the car having issues or the phone, but I am thinking it happens when the phone gets too hot.

2. Even with the pre collision set to the least sensitive setting, it goes off pretty frequently when someone is making a right turn in front of me and I don't slow down even though they're pretty much all the way through their turn.

3. The adjust volume based on speed setting all the way up still has me turning it a couple clicks louder when at speed and down when I stop.

4. With a car seat base pretty much permanently in the back, the not split bench means the under seat storage in inaccessible on the fly.

4. This isn't really a maverick fault, but just pickups in general, but being my first truck, I'm surprised how often I'm thinking a task would be more practical if I still had my fiat 500. Normal groceries and other medium size loads that I don't want sliding around. I love that I can haul the motorcycles around without a trailer now, but I feel like overall, I'm sacrificing practicality for that ability, not that it's an all around super practical configuration like I feel I've been told by pickup owners forever. If I didn't have motorcycles I would be annoyed by getting it instead of something with a hatchback.

Paint is soft but brittle. Shiny though.

Memory seats 3 positions like escape and fusion

Liked the dual temp dials but living without.

Stereo is fine BO brand. Play with settings. Wanted Sirius and one touch start. So got lariat.

As wierd as the world is I feel blessed to have it.

2.0 EB Lariat, sunroof, CP360, without Lux pkg :

1. Buzzing and rattling from the dashboard
2. Door pulls should extend the full length
3. The dual temperature knobs were supposed to have readouts - they don't
4. The fuel filler door was supposed to have a release button on the light switch pod. Mine doesn't have that and anyone can vandalize the capless fuel filler. Can't use a locking cap due to the design.
5. Steering wheel audio control for volume should be a toggle up/down switch

Sound quality basic audio system: I improved the sound by resetting the bass, mid and treble to the neutral position. I use music on a USB stick. I noticed the sound quality varies from song to song depending upon the original source and age. Sources that were originally digital sound better than oldies that were originally analog.

There is a fuel lock for Ford “Easy Fuel” cap less fueling. Check in accessories at your dealer or online.

I've got ~ 1800 miles on my 23 xlt hybrid. I really like it no major complaints so far. I agree with others that the stereo, interior and other common complaints could have been done better by Ford. On the other hand the factory installations aren't especially bad for an entry level vehicle.

It might be helpful for people to remember that this is a below $30K pickup. Unless I missed something this is the cheapest pick up / working vehicle you can buy that also has 4 doors. Some of the whiners might want to remember what cost category they bought in.
Oddly I met a guy on Saturday at the Ace parking lot who parked right next to me with his xlt. He used to visit this site but said he doesn't anymore because he got tired of the negativity by posters who seem to have forgotten they have bought an entry level vehicle.

As far as what I don't like about the Maverick.
- Finish quality could use improvement. The way the carpet is cut under the seats, panels are aligned, etc. Please Ford do a bit better quality control.
- The lane assist is essentially useless bordering on dangerous. It is way too jerky and as far as I'm concerned not safe to use. Ford please refine the lane assist or get rid of it. What you've installed is not entirely safe to use.

YEAH! the negatives are so tiring,maybe you should have waited to buy a 2028 Maverick...I am sure by then everything will be fixed and the price tag will be $49K for the XL

It is an unbeatable vehicle for the price. Don’t compare it to things that are double the price

I do hate the plastic steering wheel on the XLT. There is a fix (I haven’t received mine yet).

My kids don’t like the back speakers blasting right into their ears. I adjusted the sound balance more to the front.

Wifes 23 XLT Hybrid need much improved bach up camera.. It's pretty poor.. Speakers, I've heard worse.. Noise interior, not so much noise in hybrid.. scratched interior, Mind still looks really good..Congratulations

Rear view mirror blocks view.

If you haven't already, grab the top and bottom of the rear view mirror with both hands and lift up gently. It's on an articulating arm so the whole thing can move up and down, meaning it won't be so low on the windshield. Obviously it can only go so high with the camera module occupying a bit of space.

No idea why they ship these vehicles with their rear view mirrors so low...

1. Having a key instead of push button start
2. Terribly outdated infotainment system
3. The rotary shift knob doesn't stop spinning when you get to park or drive
3. Lack of corner steps on the rear bumper (I'm short)

If the knob stopped it may be possible to break it. Some people are rough on stuff. I am sure it would have a plastic part which could break easier.
