Just had the airbag recall done on Tuesday. Drove and started fine Wed, Thurs, Fri and Saturday morning. Go to start it Saturday afternoon and i turn the key and get nothing. After i try and start, a bunch of faults start popping up on the screen. I have 12.40 volts at the battery. Posting a link to the faults it throws. Anyone else had this issue?

You seem to have the exact same problem as me, mine behaves the same and is now at the dealership, won't hear about it until monday. Only difference is mine hasn't had the airbag recall done, so it might be something else.

How old is your truck? Your mileage is quite close to mine as well.

There were some battery problems a while ago with the Mavericks.. The battery should read 12 .7 - 12- 9. after sitting for a few hours. Although the vehicle should start I have seen faulty batterys do this.

Lots of reports of people having electrical issues after having the airbag recall done. Not always like yours, but somehow all these techs are messing up the job one way or another.

Just a though try disconnecting the battery removing power for a bit. Works doing that on my old laptop ;)

I've been reading many posts online that the 2022 Mavericks have been suffering a lot from electrical gremlins. The past 2 times I've went in to my Ford/Lincoln dealership to have my MKZ serviced, I have noticed a lot of 2022 Mavericks on their lifts. I was curious and asked my technician who was servicing my MKZ (Oil Change & Radiator Flush) if he knew the status of the Mavericks and if he has worked on them himself. He immediately replied, "many times." He went on to tell me that both the Hybrid & ICE 2022 Mavericks have been nothing but a headache. He said that customers have been constantly bringing them in for some type of electrical issue or a different issue that they can't solve and figure out. He told me to stay away from the 2022 model year Mavericks. He was blunt and straight out told me that the 2022 Mavs are a POS 😬.

Hopefully Ford engineers can solve most of these issues with the 2023 model year Mavericks. Mine is getting built soon (March 21st) and I definitely do not want to be hanging out at the dealership over these same issues that are occurring right now. I understand that this truck is new in the market, but the engine and most of the electrical components have been around for a pretty long time. In fact, my 2016 MKZ Hybrid has the same engine as the Hybrid Maverick and it hasn't given me a single issue (knocked on wood) for the past 80k miles.

Hope that everyone who has been having mechanical issues with their Mavericks gets everything resolved soon before these persistent issues start leaving a bad taste in peoples mouths. Ford has really been a mess these past few years with their quality issues and they better figure it out soon before loyal customers to the brand, like myself, start jumping ship and become loyal customers to different brand(s). In this day and age with the powers of the internet, word gets around quick. Ford needs to take a good look at themselves before the WORD starts to spread faster and further than COVID-19 and it ends up becoming too late to fix.

for air bag work, the service folks likely disconnected the battery cables (possibly both). Of course, you can take it back to the dealership but if you feel up to it, you might want to disconnect the battery and clean the connections, reconnect and give it a try, might need a charge as well if the alternator was not able to get a charge in the battery from a loose connection. Could not be this as well but pretty sure they would have removed the negative cable to the battery if not both.

I am just glad we have people like you in this world who are asking the tough questions. I mean imagine if you had only been there once instead of twice. All those Mavericks would have gone unnoticed. I am sure the guy changing your oil at a dealership is the right person to talk to about all this too. They are usually the most experienced.

I wonder if the Battery Sensor got messed up when they worked on the airbag. The manual talks about resetting it on page 311

Battery Sensor Reset When you install a new battery, reset the battery sensor by doing the following:
1. Switch the ignition on, and leave the engine off. Note: Complete Steps 2 and 3 within 10 seconds.
2. Flash the high beam headlamps five times, ending with the high beams off.
3. Press and release the brake pedal three times

Mine started having this particular electrical problem before having the airbag recall done though, so it might be unrelated. Hopefully the last of the defective batteries dying on us and nothing more.

Did you get it fixed? You should ask the dealer if you could have them do battery tests and replace it all on the same day, mine got relced with a better AGM type battery and no more starting problems.

It is currently at the dealer now. I haven't heard anything from them yet.

Went to the dealer today to check on the status. They said they think they may have found the problem... a pinched wire in the kick panel. They said they bypassed the pinch and everything seemed to be normal. They are going to permanently fix the pinch on Monday and let me know. I would 100% think that this was caused by the airbag recall. They wouldnt admit it though. I'll post an update, hopefully Monday when i get it back.
