Makes sense. I should have been more clear. That whole "one hour a week" thing means scouts takes up a lot of my time and so I assume people are on the same wavelength.
I think you're probably right. People can spend an hour in the evening watching the latest episode of some show, but not willing to do something constructive with that same hour. I think there is just a general disconnect with the outdoors these days as well. Kids used to go play outside and lived learning new ways to do stuff. Now, if it's not on a screen it's pulling teeth to get them outside. The wife's nephew was headed that way. A couple years ago I took him on the trap line to get him out of the house. Thankfully he took to it like a fly on stink. Been mentoring him and a couple of his friends these last two years on trapping, tracking, woodsmanship, etc. It's great seeing that enthusiasm kick in. It actually spurred me on to volunteering to become a certified trappers education teacher for the state Fish and Game. You can't sit back and complain about kids not getting outside these days if you're not willing to help them get outdoors.

This right here. The number of parents I hear complain about their kids being on their electronics all day but then won't actually take the steps to do anything about it. I made my daughter earn her Life Scout rank before I got her a cell phone and told her the primary reason I got it for her was so she could wrap up her Eagle before she is allowed a driving license. My son has the same arrangement.

Some parents forget to be parents.

They just let the TV and internet be the parents. Neither of which is a good option.

If you can’t wait for the dealership to open on Tuesday you can go to auto zone and borrow the code reader and you should have a idea of why the check engine light is on. Do not erase the code because the dealer will need the code to make the repair.

Sounds like you'll want to contact Ford Roadside Assistance in the morning to have it towed to your dealer to have it looked at under warranty. Unless, of course, someone has any suggestions on things you can try at home. Sounds like an issue with the fuel pump, though, which is something the dealer should generally handle.

Your vehicle purchase includes 5 years/60,000 mi of roadside assistance.

It sucks but anything mass produced can have teething issues. Let us know how the repairs progress.

I would call AAA instead of Ford because they will run a complete diagnostic test on the starting system including the battery. If the battery is bad find out from the dealership what a replacement will cost you. When my OEM battery goes bad I replace it with a AAA battery. AAA has a nation wide warranty program. All batteries are on a prorated replacement cost. Since Sears went out of business AAA is in my opinion the best battery program.
