If you can wait, then I think you are getting a decent little truck. I definitely would prefer it over my alternatives. I'm just approaching a hard deadline where I have to have something.

That's where I am at. I would have loved to get a Maverick, but I really needed something by March. And with the order not even scheduled, I know the writing is on the wall. We've been a one car family for nearly a year, so I've moved on.

Decided to go with a new Subaru Crosstrek. Asked the dealer if they could find a specific spec - they grabbed one in transit to a different dealer. With a Subaru loyality coupon and negotiation I was 1250 under MSRP. Got the car in a few weeks and quite enjoy it.

As usual, it is just another excuse.
Old Man, do you really have time for this excuse?🤔
Ford has the parts, they are refusing to honor the customer.
I live in the real world, you live in the world of rainbows and unicorns. Write a letter to the board of Ford and tell them how you think the should build their vehicles. I bet they fire Farley and hire you.

A man with a plan.

Strategery!

Step 1- Cancel!
Step 2- DEMAND proof of dealer cancelling (which they will not do)
Step 3- Force dealer to sell me the truck I cancelled
Step 4- Profit!

I'm in awe.

I'm straight up not letting this happen. If I cancel, I will hound them for cancelation documentation. I will check with Ford support daily to ensure it was canceled. If they don't, I'll buy it and resell it to some other dealer.

I feel like Gene Wilder in Blazing Saddles.

"You’ve got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West.
You know… morons."

So… if they won’t “cancel” it, I would just buy it? It would not actually be canceled… How hard is that for you to get?

the conversation goes like this “if I cancel this order, will you provide me with the documentation that it was canceled? No? Okay I’ll buy it”. If they say yes, I wait and when they dont provide and ford confirms it’s still live, I show them that and buy it. Maybe your dealer wouldn’t do that, but mine would. Maybe stop applying your experiences to others. LM cancels orders all the time…

some of you are overly aggressive for no reason and it continues to make me giggle when users can’t understand basic comments. But yes, IM the moron 😂

Real word of gluttony.... And we all know how that is panning out.

Congrats. The Crosstrek is an awesome car. We just got a 2023 Subaru Ascent and love it.

I don't understand Ford. No scheduling? Yet my order moved to production last week, and I received an email today that it was built. So they must be doing something, no? 🤨

But I didn't order any of the things noted as constraints for week 3/9/23 either. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Avalanche Grey Tremor ordered last Sept from Walnut Creek Ford

Oh nice! We have a 20 Ascent as well. We have been fairly loyal to Subaru. The Crosstrek was a future thinking purchase. Seeing how hard it's been to find a decent used car, we'll keep it around and give it the kids when they are of driving age.

So right now production is scheduled through late April. "No scheduling" does not mean production has stopped or that it even will stop. All "no scheduling" means is that they haven't decided which trucks they'll start building starting in May yet. It just means they haven't decided which ones they'll be building yet.
