Not entirely true. There are cases where a dealer with allocations and no available orders will have their allocation given to another dealer that has an order that matches. But I think those are uncommon occurrences.

Several folks including me have had their scheduled "week" being juggled to a different day in that scheduled "weeK". I wonder if this is related to the clean-up scheduling, where FoMoCo is trying to fill gaps in production.

Mine was scheduled for production starting 02/06 of last week. They bumped to this week 02/11. It showed in production since 02/07 with a date of 02/11. It is getting closer I believe or at least hope.

And that's exactly why I opted to buy a '23 Area 51 Lariat Hybrid First Edition from a local dealer. It had sat for several months waiting for parts on the Air Bag recall, and by the time they came in, the original orderer opted for something else. Got the call at 5 PM, and it was sitting in my driveway at 8 PM. Would have been sooner, but there was only one finance guy working, and someone came in right before me and bought matching F150s for him and his wife, so I had to wait.

Area 51 is my 2nd favorite Maverick color (Cyber Orange is #1 - especially with the BAP). This one has everything else I want, plus a moonroof that I didn't order, but don't really mind having. I'll probably use it once in a blue moon, since it came with the truck.

But most importantly, it allows me to be a lot more sanguine as I watch the odds of MY hybrid order getting built get reduced week after week. At this point, I figure about half the hybrids Ford will deliver in 2023 are "spoken for" and that leaves about 3 orders for every remaining build slot... Yeesh!

That's the silver lining I'm trying to take away from all this: as of right now I've saved enough for all the immediate accessories I'll want after delivery (folding tonneau, tint, pet covers, floor mats, etc.) and the equivalent of a couple months of payments. The less I have to finance with these interest rates, the better!
