No, it's when the factory ends up running differently than originally scheduled so they end up with some small gaps in production they need to fill in with unscheduled orders.Isn’t cleanup scheduling where they try to balance some capacity against dealers without allocations?
Wasn’t there a term for it when they fill in allocations gaps? No, it's when the factory ends up running differently than originally scheduled so they end up with some small gaps in production they need to fill in with unscheduled orders.
They still pull from dealers that have allocations.
Not that I know of. If your dealer does not have allocations then none of their orders get scheduled.Wasn’t there a term for it when they fill in allocations gaps?
Not entirely true. There are cases where a dealer with allocations and no available orders will have their allocation given to another dealer that has an order that matches. But I think those are uncommon occurrences. Not that I know of. If your dealer does not have allocations then none of their orders get scheduled.
Now the opposite can happen. If a dealer still has allocations but no more retail orders. In this case, Ford can pull from the dealer's stock orders.
Yes if a dealer has allocation but no retail or stock orders they can lose that allocation. But those allocations would go next to another dealer that has unused allocations. Only if if no dealer with allocations in the region wants any orders would they go to a dealer without allocations. I don't see this happening much with the Maverick. Not entirely true. It took me a month and a half to get my dealer to change mine TO an Ecoboost. Apparently their Rep is telling his area that if you change anything they will cancel your order. I finally went in there and told them if it got cancelled it got cancelled but to put the change in so I had a chance at least to get a truck. Surprise Surprise it went through just fine.My dealer called me again about switching to ecoboost. I feel like they are getting desperate/panicking.
Such an odd thing for them to say. Especially since it’s in their best interest to change the drivetrain to get the vehicle built. Frankly, i have no idea why ford even takes retail orders. I don’t see them gaining anything from it and clearly they can’t build what’s ordered anyway. It took me a month and a half to get my dealer to change mine TO an Ecoboost. You mean like in 2022 when lots of Hybrid and EB customer orders did not get built? At some point they will have to deviate from the allocation plan, otherwise there will be ecoboosts and hybrids unbuilt.
