I ordered 2023 Lariat EB Luxury with 4K tow package. Is the 4K tow package a restraint?
It hasn't been mentioned, I think they said at the start of the year they could build 20% of Mavericks that way. But it hasn't seemed to slow anyone up.

An interesting post from Bronco Nation forum, headache material

"Alright, so... for the 2023 model year Ford is changing up the allocation formula. (It's actually more of a return to the old formula, with a bit of an added twist.) This is my attempt at explaining it.
Before you go through the trouble of reading this, I will warn you that this information doesn't really help you make a decision about which dealer to order from. The sales data needed to figure all of this out is internal to the dealers/Ford—it is not public information. So this post is basically a "just in case you wanted to know" post.

The information within this post came from a variety of people—most notably a dealer local to me with some helpful clarifications by Tim Bartz, who is the internet sales manager for Long McArthur Ford, a dealership in Kansas."

Chatted with Ford last week. No constraints, still just waiting for my Maverick to be scheduled. I am wondering if it is a dealership allocation issue or just luck of the draw.

I think their constraints is an annual constraint. Scheduling seems to happen in chunks. They have a chunk of Lariat parts come in? We see a ton of Lariats scheduled. I wonder if the current hybrid flush will last or if we are due for a drought on the grounds the supplier has delivered all they promised this quarter.

Again, who knows. It's just irritating to see Ford build a ton of non-retail vehicles when they have already said they can't meet all the retail order demand. It's like, "yeah, well then effing stop wasting capacity on non-retail orders."
Hey Commadorebob,
Please read post #47 (from Fossil) in this thread. You are my designated statistic guy (lol) and you seem to make sence of this nonsence (at least to me and a ton of others). I appreciate everything you post....Thank You!

Which considering the fact they were hoping people would jump to EB, it makes even less sense to drag those orders out. Burn through the EBs and then the hybrid people still waiting are only waiting because they want to. Ford can then be a little more gruff at the end of the year when the model year runs out: "you've known since January we couldn't build them all and had the chance to jump to an EB since June and get it in a month."

By dragging the EBs out, they specifically lose that argument.

/ranting posts (I need to go do scoutmaster things...)
I find it incredibly rich that Ford FINALLY decides to knock out some 16-18 month-old Hybrid orders dating to 2021......

And the "new to the game" September 2022 EcoBoost guys start complaining because they have to wait longer......

Priceless!!!!!

who knows how it works; I was scheduled last week and my order was dated 9/20/22. I feel bad for those who waited. My dealer is a large volume in a metro area, sells the most EVs and hybrids, so there’s that.

Tim Bartz has his video explaining this here. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...s-earned-how-will-it-affect-your-order.19355/

One thing to keep in mind. It's not just previous 12 months of Maverick sales but rather the combined sales of Maverick, Ranger, Escape and Bronco Sport over the last 12 months.

Which is great. You can get more Mavericks just as soon as you can prove you can sell things that are unsellable:
Maverick - no stock
Ranger - no stock due winding down for model refresh
Escape - No one actually wants but settles for when the finance terms come back on the Explorer.
Bronco Sport - Just now starting to become readily available.

Are Bronco Sports even rare? The smallish dealer in town has a whole row of them but not a single Maverick on the lot.

Not any more. But they were up until a month ago.

I wonder why the tow hitch is a constraint. Seems like a pretty straight forward option. No electronics, no rare minerals. Ford should be able to crank those out as needed.

"Trailer Tow Hitch" is listed as a constraint Is that same as 4K tow package. I ordered EB Lariat Luxury package. Luxury package comes with a "Trailer hitch receiver w/4pin connector". I upgraded to 4K tow package. Lariat Luxury is not listed as a constraint but "Trailer tow hitch" is. I am confused.
