Today I changed the first flat tire I've had in 35 years. Ford roadside assist wasn't worth the paper it's written on. I was near Johnson City, TX which is NOT in the middle of nowhere, and after waiting an hour and a half for them to find someone to assign to send out to me, I decided to change the tire myself. I had to go onto youtube to figure out how to remove the mechanism that holds the spare tire to the cable (the owner's manual was a fail here), but I got the job done myself. A pat on the back for this 64 year old grandma.

Dang it, I missed posting by a week but last Saturday I took delivery of my Cactus Gray '23 and took it straight home to lower it. Had 12.1 miles when I tore it apart.

Three hours later it was handling significantly better and (my opinion) looked a million times better. Your mileage may vary... LOL.

Swapped out the tires today to 245/65/17 falken wild peak at3/w’s and took her for a test run down a recently snow covered forest road that goes down to a little town called placitas that I’ve gone down before with the stock Pirelli tires…. Night and day difference in terms of traction and ability to absorb the rough terrain and best investment by far as far as my maverick is concerned, only other difference I noticed is that as far as quick maneuvers they seem to be a little more on the soft side when on pavement, not a significant amount, but it will take a little getting used to as I haven’t had all terrain tires before

I bought a set of trays to fit in the center console from Amazon yesterday, and they arrived today. They fit great and really help with organizing the black hole.

Installed the Ford Coverking seat covers. As you can see from the pictures the fit on the sides (for the side air bag deployment) is pretty cheezie. They will serve the purpose as my lab refuses to stay in the back hammock I had installed previously.

Installation instructions sucked!!!

Got a Kurgo seat protector for the dogs. A real thing of beauty. But it works.

Late post, but yesterday I hauled stuff to goodwill, and 2 kitchen trash bags full of flattened sodapop cans to the scrap metal recycler. I got to the recycler too late. Will try again monday.

Mine finally got the bath it deserved, finally we got a decent day in Houston 75ish.

Made the interior loud so we can plan the course of action to make it REALLY loud
It’s almost shocking how much the backseat blocks the sound from the air vents
Plus the Lariat back seat has more sound insulation than the others
I had a hard time listening to the radio on the way to work

Cut some 2X wood to support loads level with the tailgate. A 2X6 46 inches long rests just ahead of the wheel wells and a pair of 2X4's 54 inches long are stacked in the pockets just ahead of the accessory covers. A 1" X 1" notch in each end of the lower one lets the wood rest on the raised ribs of the bed and it all lines up to within a quarter inch of level. Move the tailgate cables to the upper pins and it's all set.
