  3. How to remove panel under steering wheel?

I ended up removing the panel just below the steering wheel. It gives a bit more room to get to the brake relay. This YouTube video shows how The brake relay is the light blue thing. I have a picture of it in my last post on the thread Ready brute elite and Roadmaster tow plate
  4. 🙋‍♂️ What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Today I changed the first flat tire I've had in 35 years. Ford roadside assist wasn't worth the paper it's written on. I was near Johnson City, TX which is NOT in the middle of nowhere, and after waiting an hour and a half for them to find someone to assign to send out to me, I decided to...
  5. NSA Readybrute Elite II tow bar with Roadmaster base plate

As a final note to this thread, I towed my Mav from Michigan to TX for Christmas and the start of my snowbird journey this year. The first night, I woke to a dead battery and had to jump it and let it run for a while. Second day, I noticed my TPMS sensors showed the pressure and temperature...
  6. NSA Readybrute Elite II tow bar with Roadmaster base plate

So now the only things left to do are put in the brake light relay and the light on the dash of the RV that shows the brake is on. I bought the whole NSA towing kit. It includes a LED to put in the dash of the RV with 2 wire run for the toad and the RV, with a separate 2 wire umbilical. I'm...
  7. NSA Readybrute Elite II tow bar with Roadmaster base plate

Here's a picture of the Readybrake brake and breakaway brake cables where they come through the firewall and are attached to the brake arm. The blue wire is for the indicator light in the RV...not yet connected to the brake light switch.
  8. Flat towing a Maverick?

BDennis, I forged ahead and installed both the brake cables. Picture is here https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/nsa-readybrute-elite-ii-tow-bar-with-roadmaster-base-plate.23804/
  9. NSA Readybrute Elite II tow bar with Roadmaster base plate

I installed the ReadyBrake Breakaway yesterday. Instructions say to put it somewhere accessible so it can be serviced and reset if needed. Also somewhere that the cable won't rip the engine apart if it does get used. Best I could find was a spot hiding under the engine splash guard. There's...
  10. Flat towing a Maverick?

I never heard of one that actually uses the Mav lights. Are you talking about magnetic lights?
  11. Flat towing a Maverick?

Thanks. I'm going to try to tackle the ReadyBrake breakaway today or tomorrow
  12. Custom fabricated cover / filler panel for left rear underbody opening

No, it is hard molded plastic and is definitely not L/R interchangeable
  13. NSA Readybrute Elite II tow bar with Roadmaster base plate

I installed the battery charge wire this weekend. Easy peasy once I figured out there is a positive jump post in the engine bay just forward of the fuse box. Didn't have to run the line to the battery in the back seat! I used Roadmaster's battery charge line kit that includes a self-resetting...
  14. Black & reflective tailgate letters installed on Area 51 Maverick

You want to order one of the three that say reflective. There is reflective red, white, or black. Don't order gloss or matte. They're not reflective. Mine looks like the pics on his site. Flat black that reflects bright white.
  15. Black & reflective tailgate letters installed on Area 51 Maverick

I got mine from the same seller. They work nice. I also ordered and got refunded a set from here https://www.etsy.com/listing/1163182475/3d-domed-raised-reflective-tailgate The seller claims they are reflective raised letters. They are NOT reflective, only glossy. I had to settle for the...
  16. 🙋‍♂️ What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

I installed a Roadmaster tow plate and wiring, and a Redi-brake cable for flat towing. I'm stuck on putting in the brake-lite relay and where to attach the Redi-stop breakaway one-way pull box. Trying to figure out how to get my body or at least my arms under the steering wheel up to the top...
  17. How to remove panel under steering wheel?

I need to get into the knee space under the steering wheel to install a brake relay for my flat tow setup. Does anyone have directions to remove that panel? It would make it a whole lot easier to get to the brake light switch wire that is way high up under the dash. Thanks
