Just traded it in for a Honda Ridgeline after a year:

Ford Maverick What I did today with my Maverick.... ridgeline

I did mention in number of my posts, that this had been the plan all along. Yes, I did have remorse for not purchasing a Ridgeline last year, but now I have one from '24. The Maverick served me well during its time with me and there's a lot to like about it. While the Lariat had/has some issues, especially with the electrical system, overall it's a nice little pickup truck. It's more of my preference when it comes to midsize pickups that made me switch...

That was my second choice after the Maverick. But for what I need right now it is a little too big and the fuel economy is not what I would like for my commute. But depending on what I do with my project car I might end up with a Ridgeline in a year or two. Hope you like it. I am trying to convince my dad to trade his old Highlander for a Ridgeline.

Your hybrid Lariat certainly has a much better fuel economy, than my EB 2.0 had, around 15 MPG in the winter due to the short round trips.. The Ridgeline can do that, or similar in the winter and it has a V6 and more room. I've added a few accessories to the Lariat, change the oil twice in a year and sold it with 3,400 miles on it. Someone, who like the Maverick will be happy with it....

I like the Ridgeline a lot. Very elegant looking midsizer. And a wonderfully unstressed engine that should last forever. And I recall it kept value incredibly well. Smooth sailing with your new ride!

We looked at Nissan Frontier, Honda Rigdeline and drove wife’s sister Santa Fe. Then the Maverick. Wife and I felt like cabin in Frontier and Ridgeline crampy, tight. The Santa Fe was ok. Then we sat in a Maverick. Big difference in cabin feel. Decision made.

And prices! Not hard to decide for this one.

Then finding one became a chore. Lucky found one 26 miles away. Traded my reliable 2011 F250 diesel away….

I seriously looked at the Ridgeline for its size, towing capacity, interior, Honda quality, and looks. The deal breaker was that it wasn't flat towable. it's a great looking truck and it's always satisfying to have a truck that meets your needs without overkill.

Got me to work and I need to make an appointment to get it cleaned and polished so when my 24 comes in May we'll have 3 of them for about the price of a Honda.

While I didn't know that the RL is not towable, the bumpers are not designed to support the vehicle’s weight, it's not a deal breaker for me. The truck isn't just meeting my needs, I also like it more than the Maverick. Yes, it is more expensive, but certainly one could not buy three Mavericks for that price. Depending on the Maverick's trim line, one couldn't even buy two of them. Besides, it's only money. It's sort of ironic, that one has to buy a "Made in the USA" vehicle from a foreign company. The Ridgeline is made in Lincoln, AL....

And again... There's a lot to like in the Maverick, but the truck and I just didn't gel together, like I already did with the Ridgeline in less than a week...

I had reserved a 23 ridgeline black edition in sonic grey pearl when I lost hope of getting my maverick in 2022. The ridgeline arrived the same time my ford email announcing maverick in production. I let the Honda go. Drives very smooth, fits us big guys a lot better (eat it Tacoma and Colorado) trunk and bed speaker was cool.

I think the Honda Ridgeline is starting to look better as they update it. It is looking more like a scaled up Maverick.
