Depends on your needs, plain and simple. Only you know your needs and your wants.

Does sound like an awd might have been a better choice.

I have stock tires. it is base xl model with 360 and towing option. i think i will be driving another AWD car this winter and change for better tires in fall 2023. not sure about winter tires though. i will try to deflate to 32 psi and see if i can get better grip.
think you'd be surprised how good 2 real snow tires would be. 3 more months of winter, just saying.

probably, and the more highway miles, the hybrid gets into the low 30s, it's in their nature.

Car and Driver https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a39539233/ford-maverick-hybrid-fuel-economy-tested/
"On our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test route, the truck managed 30 mpg. While driving around town we regularly saw 40 mpg or over, according to the Maverick's onboard computer. The all-wheel drive nonhybrid Maverick we tested in late 2021, which was powered by the optional turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, came close to the hybrid in our highway fuel-economy test by hitting 29 mpg."

I rarely drive in town, need AWD so the hybrid never got a second thought.
I haven’t gotten low 30s in mine as of yet. I drive 90% highway and still average 40 mpg. I don’t tow or need AWD so I went hybrid. I just hate that OP sounds like he’s regretting his decision.

to early to conclude. since the price is $3 per gallon (and it is winter) it is nice to have AWD. Once the price is $6 per gallon it may be worth to have a Hybrid. considering my conditions of the private driveway 0.6 miles it is much cheaper to have AWD vs. trying to put asphalt and raise it to the level where i can drive 2wd in deep snow.

I can't imagine any EB driver averaging 32 MPG after 100,000 miles. I drive almost exclusively in the city and am lucky to see 20 MPG in my AWD EB. You don't state what kind of driving you do, but if even a small percentage of it is in the city, you need to extend your calculations down to around 25 MPG before you make your comparison against EB.

Also, consider how long it's going to take you to drive 100,000 miles. I only drive about 4,000 miles per year, so I'm not particularly concerned with the reduced fuel economy of my EB, or the cost of gasoline, for that matter.

Less than $4. Even our premium is only $2.91 at Costco here in GA according to gasbuddy.

But I lived in Washington for almost 20 years, so I understand. Took a while to get used to cheap fillups when we moved here.

But the real reason we want the hybrid is because it is flat towable behind the motor home where the EB can not be.
+100 on that. The hybrid Maverick is on a rather short list for flat tow. In fact, that is how I even found out about the Maverick, researching flat tow vehicles for our motorhome. The mileage is also a huge plus for me.
- flat tow
- 40mpg
- can haul a sheet of plywood
- fits (barely) in my garage
- can tow 2,000#
Checks all my boxes, sign me up.

I saw gas at $3.95 over by I-5 yesterday, first time below $4 since I don't remember.

snow tires will not help where i live. it is too much uphill for snow tires. i tried on different car.
I won't argue because I don't know where you live. But I lived on Mt Hood for 15 years and drove a Prius for 10 of them. Front wheel drive, good snow tires and a set of chains for backup and I always got home. Always got a chuckle out of the lifted 4x4's in the ditch as I puttered past in my silly little Prius. :)
