I'm just wondering, I ordered an XL hybrid with a few options including 360, sliding window and tow package. I got an email from Ford motor confirming my order . Does this mean anything as far as allocations dealer has or not related at all?
Thanks
The "Order Confirmed" email just means that your dealership entered a correctly formatted order, and included your email so you get notified. It means your order is in with all 65,000+ other orders that were received during the order window.

According to Tim Bartz's video on this topic, it will NOT change your order, unless you have a Lariat Hybrid on order... On the Lariat, a change fro Hybrid to EB forces a change from FWD (W8E) to AWD (W8F), which is a different "series code" (chassis) and that WOULD re-set your order date.

That said, even the Lariat HYB to EB re-setting the order date might not matter much, since Ford is going mostly by dealer allocations and constraints, rather than by order date. But do make sure your dealer keeps their "priority code" (10-19) at least the same as it was before, so you don't drop behind others in line at that particular dealer...
I can't find the video online. Can you link it? I found a 1 hour podcast. I'm not listening to that...

If two people ordered the same truck with same priority code, one on Friday and one on Sunday, how do they determine who gets it?
In my experience it was always the first order in the system got scheduled. According to what Ford is saying, it could be either.

After customers call their dealers and add the packaged SIBL option., Ford will come back next month and say it's constrained.

That is an almost guaranteed given!

I’m guessing some sub brand manager pushed the factory to increase SIBL throughput because it was oversubscribed last year. The factory delivered, only to discover take rate dropped precipitously, because of the constraints last year (yes, we MTC members move like a herd!). With all that money spent and a low take rate, the junior guy panicked and convinced his senior to authorize an aggressive incentive. The result will be an MTC herd movement that will likely drive the take rate back into the constrained territory. Tim has already seen as much at L-M Kansas.

Just a guess, but highly believable!

Can someone answer the question what on the Hybrid configuration is the constraint item. Is it the battery, the electric motors etc. I have read on many sites that these items are available. Ford makes its own batteries so that should not be a issue. Inquiring minds want to know.

If I were to wager I'd say the battery. Yes, Ford makes their own batteries, but the majority of the Lithium/Cobalt in those batteries comes from a handful of mines in Africa which are largely controlled by China.

Here's a good video about it. I'm not entirely sure if this is 100% applicable to Hybrid batteries but I'm sure to some extent it holds true:

Unfortunately, I was in contact with my dealer yesterday after he tried to process my change from a hybrid xl 2.5 to a Ecoboost 2.0, and he said that that switch was not allowed, that Ford would be making no more 2.0 Mavericks this year. A group member said this was because motor switches are not allowed, but the communication from the dealer was specific re the 2.0 availability being maxed out. I THOUGHT I had read earlier that the 2.0 switch was encouraged, as they dropped the extra cost for that motor. Any advice on actually GETTING a truck appreciated, otherwise stuck singing the "35% BLUES"
This is the actual wording from my dealer: My GM attempted to change the order to an Ecoboost motor, but the Ford ordering utility would not accept this change. It informed him that the Ecoboost engine had received an early balance out, meaning no more non-hybrid Mavericks will be built in the 2023 model year.
You may already know this but Tim (Ford Video Guy) put out a video on these changes and found the same thing. His thought was they were waiting until Thursday's scheduling was complete before they allowed the change. He did caution that it was his understanding that if you changed the powertrain or trim level that you would get a new order date. something to think about.

Went to make changes today from the xl hybrid to an xlt tremor. No go as the system didn’t appear to allow this change.
Instead ended up changing only the engine on my xl to an ecoboost. That’ll work I suppose. Curious if anyone was ever able to add the tremor package since this memo went out .

Talked to my Ford sales guy, who talked to his Ford rep, and was encouraged to not order the the SIBL and cargo system. No reason was given, but I will just leave it alone for now.

Because, most likely, with the discounted package this week it's likely to become a constrained item again which would further delay your build....just my guess.

Remember, it has been pointed out by fordvideoguy that ordering the CMS can be confusing for some Sales individuals. You may want to point out that you want to add the "BED TIE DOWN LOCKING RAILS w/2 LOCKING BRACKETS" (order code 61D). That's the same item that can confusingly also be referred to as the "CARGO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM" or "6 D-LINK BED CONNECTORS".
My current order already has the "6 D-Link BED Connectors". Does this mean that I already have the bed rails on my order?

@fordvideoguy does this ability to change engines include the tremor? A user above reported it didn’t work. Should dealers first try and save the hybrid to eco change and then add tremor as a package in a follow up change?
