I almost agree and will not be too disappointed if I don't get my 2023 XLT HPR Hybrid. In Ohio there is a license tax of an additional 100.00, each year, for a hybrid so that cuts into the savings also.
I can guarantee it is not worth arguing with the wife over, that never ends well even if I am right. HaHa.
Thus far, I've got just over 1000 miles on my Maverick Hybrid Lariat FE, so it's barely broken in... The in-truck computer says I'm averaging 36.5 mpg so far. The Fuelly site reports a calculated average of 36 mpg. That tells me that the computer is pretty darn accurate, which I find somewhat surprising!

Note that almost all of my driving thus far has been highway miles (with the vast majority of that at 70-75 mph - running at the speed limit to keep from getting run over), and very little "city" driving thus far. I expect to see the mpg go up quite a bit with more in-town errand-running type driving, which will be the vast majority of the miles this truck will see.

I've got two hybrids on order. I'm reluctant to change over to EB, because I fully expect the mileage WILL be a "Big Deal" over my expected 10-year plus ownership of the trucks.

I think we will be fine. We are at the front of the line. I added back all my constraints including sibl, hitch to my xlt hybrid. Am scheduled for 16 jan. I expect to get build in january.
If you don’t mind me asking, just curious how you were able to get these added? My dealer has been adamant that it’s not possible to add the SIBL to my order since I have a scheduled build date (week of Jan 2), but I’ve now seen a couple ppl who have been able to get a change put through despite being scheduled too. 🤔 any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!

It all depends on where you sit on that dealers order list. If you are at or near 1st place (ahead of all the new 2023 orders) and the dealer has allocations, you might be OK.

Rollover orders should be ahead of others at any particular dealer, if they followed the instructions to set rollovers to priority 10 and others to priority 19. But you may remember some posts where scummy dealers were setting new orders at priority 10 equal to or ahead of their own rollovers. There’s a crap shoot element in all of this.
Thanks for your input. I do know for a fact that I am a priority build code of 10. I will just have to keep my fingers crossed because I refuse to remove my one and only Constraint item-the hitch. Not going to pay 3 times the price for an aftermarket one and then have to install it.

Where did you get the private offer? I haven't received one for my rollover order. I asked my dealer and they said they would "adjust" my order to reflect without specifying any dollar amount. Based on what the two Ford guys who provide info to the Maverick groups say, we should get $2750 off our roll over prices. I know nothing of an expiration, but then again, I have nothing in writing. I agree, this has turned into a $hit show.
I have mine in writing on a signed Contract by the dealer with the out the door price with the private offer. Sounds like you guys are dealing with Shady dealers. Report them to Ford Corporate.

I won't be dropping the hybrid. It's the only choice that can be flat towed.

Bingo. I think people need to not overlook this part. If your dealer took 20 orders and only has 15 allocations for the year, it won't matter if you are order #16 and your truck is clean. It never gets built.

Ford - "We are transitioning an all electric fleet." Except for hybrids apparently. And having less amenities makes the XL more constrained. Makes perfect sense. Must be the steel wheels being the constraint item. So. Much.BS.
I ask What you order , just had m one, hybrid change to XL
Thinking be simple build only COpilot 360

Looks like they are trying to push all xl orders up to a higher trim level including eb. Im not changing anything. Got a production date and signed contract with high volume dealer. Ford is asking a lot from the dealers given the small margin on Mavericks. I dont expect a phone call about these changes.

Well at least we have some clarity.

- Only 46% of Hybrid orders will get built
- Only 57.7% of XL orders will get built
- There are no significant package commodity restrictions
- Everything is back to the old days where commodity plan and allocations rule

It’s all down to your place in line at the dealer. If you’re near the front and they have allocations, you’re chances are good. If not…

With the revelation in package availability, I just hope everyone doesn’t pile on the commodities to create a new problem.
I'm just wondering, I ordered an XL hybrid with a few options including 360, sliding window and tow package. I got an email from Ford motor confirming my order . Does this mean anything as far as allocations dealer has or not related at all?
Thanks

From what I’m reading here, only those on this forum will even know about these changes and offers. Dealers usually don’t have a clue. Do you really think sales consultants will be reaching out to all their customers? Because they don’t check FMC Dealer daily notes. In my previous position, I would check FMC Dealer as least every other day. So much info on that site. Stick with watching “Ford Video Guy”, one of the most informed.

Just some thinking out loud but here are some possible reality checks to consider.

1) Most people that have a Maverick ordered do not follow message boards like this so they will not even know about the ability to change a Hybrid to an Ecoboost unless their dealer contacts them which few are likely to do. Many people only want a hybrid would not switch anyway. While being able to switch your truck order to an Ecoboost might be nice for you I would be surprised if enough people switch to Ecoboosts to make a noticable difference in the hybrid shortage.

2) The Maverick bed is so short that having a side rail with sliding tie down point does not really make it much more functional. The XLT already has 10 fixed tie down points and there are pre drilled for adding them to an XL. You can buy sets of additional fixed tie down points for less than $20 on Amazon. When I was ordering my Maverick I did not think the cargo management system was worth anywhere near the cost so I did not order it. If you somehow missed out on it that is not a big loss even if it would be nice to have.

3) XL orders face an additional obstacle. Dealers like to make money(I don't blame them). If they have three orders they might set the priority this way because they make more money on more expensive trucks.
a- Loaded Lariat priority 17
b- well equipped XLT with some options, Priority 18
c- base XL, priority 19.
This would tend to delay the production of the XL. Fleet orders for XLs would mixed in with customer XL.

4) Both the XLT and Lariat luxury packages are under subscribed (25% ordered 35% capacity, and 20 to 30 percent respectively) which should make then easier to get. While they are not mentioned as constraints I would have to wonder if the non-lux versions of those trim levels would be harder to get since for each trim level there are some non-lux components that would be needed. For example for the XLT there is a lux driver seat and a non-lux driver seat that they will need more of than planned.

I quit following this thread after 5 pages so this may have been covered but, will a hybrid to eco change push the previous (now eco) order to a priority code that’s toward the end of a dealers list? Meaning if person X was an eco order at priority 10 and person Y was a hybrid order at priority 10 but wanted to change to an eco, would the dealer put them to priority 11 effectively putting them toward the back of the line?

Please don’t respond with the “it comes down to more than just priority code. Ya gotta think of allocations and constraints” spiel, I’m pretty well versed in it. My question is will it effectively move the changed order to the back of the line.

Due to a new job and limited updates from Ford, I ended up reserving a regular Toyota Corolla that delivers 41 MPG that arrived in CA yesterday from Japan, and should be delivered to the dealer within a month.

While I would love to get my Maverick, I can’t keep waiting with no guarantee of delivery in 2023. With a potentially lower MPG based on my new circumstances/use, I had to move forward.

If the Maverick is scheduled I will certainly reconsider, but with a 5 year warranty on the engine, high reliability scores, high safety scores, and a ton of electronic lane features that Ford would charge extra for, I just can’t justify the wait.

I was a canceled 2022 order so technically I wasn't adding these back I was putting in a new order for 2023 and putting these features that I had taken out in 2022 back in. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that. I wasn't worried about constraints because we were supposed to be first at the watering hole :)

From what I have read on these forums once you have a production date you can change things like the color (with enough lead time) but options maybe not.
That said, I am going to be contacting my dealer to see if I can add cargo management system but that is mostly on the principal of it now being allowed to be added for same price with spray-in bed-liner on orders without a production date.
