The 4K hitch bar is physically different to accommodate the 7-/4-pin trailer plug receptacle.
Now I'm working with conflicting information. Stupid internet....

If that is the case, then I find it even more interesting Ford didn't bother calling out the 4K or Fx4 in their memo this week. Makes me wonder if there isn't a concern with those and it is just a matter of filling out the production schedules.

I know Tim says to leave off SIBL but if it's under capacity that's tempting. Would love that Ford logo. Got a hybrid lariat lux, moon roof with 360 and 360 assist looks like the only constrained item is the hybrid battery pack but being a rolled 22 should be my ace in the hole to get it built. What do you guys think?

Then get an xl base?

You say if price was higher you would look at other vehicles, then you say what you ordered isn’t cheap 🤔
I don't think $28,500 is cheap for a new vehicle. The Maverick is a great vehicle but it is pushing the limit on being a value proposition. I'm not unhappy with the details based upon the price, but saying if the price increases, my expectations also increase.

What I didn't say is I'm eligible for A-Plan so I'm not paying MSRP. The other saving grace for the Maverick is Ford jacked up the price of the 2023 Escape, at least to get one with a hybrid powertrain. So would have to wait until 2024 to see if they expand that availability as well.

In a nutshell, buying a new car is almost always a bad idea financially, which is why I've been driving my Mercury for 17 years (and counting)...

Unfortunately it is just a terrible time to need a new vehicle.

The FX4, by default, uses the same 4-pin trailer receptacle hitch. Was the constraint specifically in reference to the 4-pin hitch or does it encompass all hitches? I say the 4k hitch is different at the least insofar as the plate weldment part of it that the electrical connection mounts into is a different stamping ergo it necessitates a different p/n assembly.

Tim said all hitches but that it includes both the standalone hitch and packages that include the hitch. 4K itself was not specifically called out that I recall (and I was actively listening for it as that is what I ordered).

Having read through all 14 pages of this my two cents-

1. Ford should absolutely offer the opportunity for 23 hybrid orders to switch to Eco-boost. They need to do something to move people to orders that they have capacity to produce.

2. Ford should have charged more for the hybrid than the Eco-boost. Maybe that is in the cards for 2024 model year. Perhaps even not offer it on the XL trim. If they have limited availability they might as well put those units into high dollar trucks.

3. Eco-boosts are going to be available on some dealer lots at MSRP by spring 2023, first as rejected orders and then as dealer stock orders with supply building into the summer.
Ford can’t build EB either, I am 3 weeks away from 1 year since I ordered, XL EB no constraints. Don’t have a build date, VIN, information, or hope, it’s just a myth that EB are easy to get, because they aren’t, I’m proof of that.

I ordered two XLs with only hitches, one EB, one HYB. Both have 12/19 build dates scheduled. Ordered on last day bank was open. Our 22 was one of the earlier deliveries too. Perhaps I should grab a couple scratch-offs.
I also have a 12/19 Build date on an Xl hybrid with the hitch, full size spare and the 400 watt inverter. Also placed on the last day of the order Bank.

With no VIN, no rollover offer, etc., I would suspect a major problem at the dealer level a year after the "order". Way past time to call Ford and ask if you have an order in process with them. 1-800-334-4375.

I’m A plan too, and i don’t feel 28k for a new vehicle is a lot. Have you seen some of the stickers out there 😂

So what is Fo
According to Tim this evening:

68% Hybrid orders compared to 35% capacity.
32% EB orders compared to 65% capacity.

Other than the hybrid, standalone tow hitch and splashguards seem to be the items over build capacity.

XLT Lux = 30% capacity but 25% orders.
Lariat Lux = 25% capacity but 20% orders.
Tremor = 8% capacity but 2% orders

Appearance packages are all under capacity constraints compared to orders:

BAP = 10% capacity but 8% orders.
TAP = 3% capacity but "hardly anyone ordered it"

CP360 = 60% capacity but 50% orders
CP360A = 25% capacity but 8% orders.
SIBL = 39% capacity but 17% orders (Tim says leave off)
HBL = 25% capacity but 5% orders.
Moonroof = 38% capacity but 13% orders.
Hitch = 45% capacity but 65% orders... includes any packages that includes hitch.

Keep in mind those hitches are likely also on a lot of the hybrids that mathematically cannot be built. So, I don't know if I would remove the hitch. The hybrid would likely be the larger constraint than the hitch.

Note: this has been updated as more information had been requested.
So what is Ford's plan for the 25,674 and the 15,560 Hybrids with hitches that can not be built?

Which version? The Santa Cruz with a Rav4 front end, the Maverick with a Rav4 front end, or the Maverick with their Compact Cruiser EV concept front end stapled on? Or maybe you'd be interested in the Nissan that's just as much a clickbait daydream?

The best source I‘ve seen was suggesting 2025 model year for a small Toyota truck. At this point there doesn’t seem to be anything solid happening quickly on that front.
