  1. Unicorn Delivered! XL Hybrid Mavericks Do Exist

Move to a red State. XL hybrids are like cockroaches here 😂 Congrats. We love ours.
  2. New car off gassing bothering anyone else or am I the only freak?

Got to love that new car smell!!!!! I put an arm & Hammer baking soda box under my seat on day one. The kind with the cloth sides that you put in your fridge or freezer. I keep one in every car I own always have always will.
  3. Title, registration, other fees in TN?

It's about 10 percent where I live in TN. County and city can add on to the state sales tax. The sales tax is based an where you live not where you buy it. Starting next year hybrids have to pay an extra $100 on tags. The doc fees where I live are around $500 although I believe the state...
  4. I Found A Better, More Convenient Place To Mount Cell Phone Besides Cubby

I use this mount because it keeps my phone in my line of sight without obstructing my view. I drive for Uber and lift and it's super important that I be able to see my phone all the time and not get distracted by it. I bought it on Amazon for $10 and I've been using it for years.
  5. Annoying thing about the Maverick- bed length too short

    $12 fix CRAFTSMAN Mitre Saw, 12-Inch Saw & Clamping Box (CMHT20600) https://a.co/d/7ZUbsRt
  6. At The Limit : Min-maxing, or a game of compromises - [Epic Trailer Towing Roadtrip Montreal <---> SoCal]

Just for comparisons sake my hybrid XL has 1532 lb of payload capacity. It's amazing how much extra options weigh. It's great that you're taking the numbers seriously. I used to drive an 18-wheeler and now I drive for Uber and Lyft. Every single day I see someone wrecked or wiped out because...
  7. At The Limit : Min-maxing, or a game of compromises - [Epic Trailer Towing Roadtrip Montreal <---> SoCal]

    https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/1502-sae-j2807-tow-tests-the-standard/ Pretty neat stuff.
  8. At The Limit : Min-maxing, or a game of compromises - [Epic Trailer Towing Roadtrip Montreal <---> SoCal]

I don't think the Maverick is rated for a weight distributing hitch? Also you're allowed two 150 lb passengers in the front seats on top of your weight ratings. It's part of the sae standard. Sounds like an awesome trip! Cat scales has an app now. It's really cool!
  9. What's Your Personal Best Fuel Economy?

My best full tank has been 49 miles per gallon and my worst is 42 mpg. Not counting the trip from Memphis Tennessee to Aiken Georgia. This is my worst partial tank. It was from Memphis to Talladega. Cruising at 75-80 mph. I forgot to take a picture when I got to Aiken Georgia but it had gone up...
  10. Newbie question: Are ALL dealers marking up current stock?

Bought both of our hybrids for MSRP. Mine was ordered and hers just happened to be in stock from someone that backed out of their order. find a local MSRP dealer and get on their waiting list. At this point you might as well go ahead and get on their pre-order list too.
  11. Had Line-X Premium Spray-In Bed Liner Installed

My local linex guy advised against white he says it tends to turn beige over time. It was the only color he didn't recommend :)
  12. Off road in my hybrid today!

That's my little brothers cube. It barely has driveway privileges 😂
  13. Off road in my hybrid today!

Usually I would take the Silverado to places like this but I haven't even drove it since the hybrid arrived in January LOL. And now that we have a second Maverick hybrid in the driveway we're actually talking about selling the Silverado. Never in a million years would we have thought that a...
  14. This truck is forcing me to drive slow!

That's so funny. I also find myself taking City routes more than highway routes.
  15. Off road in my hybrid today!

Sitting on the beach enjoying some sunshine watching the river flow by! Yes I was very careful on the trail coming in because I know the Maverick has a long wheelbase and single ply street tires. No I didn't try to drive on to the beach. I've recovered enough Jeep wranglers to know better. I...
  16. 500 Lyft rides and 6,000 mi in 2 months with my Hybrid Maverick

I've been doing it off and on for about 6 years now. You have to have the right car and the right attitude. You also get to deduct 62 cents a mile on your taxes which makes your tax liabilities zero. I can go work at Amazon for $16 an hour and wear out my body or I can run my own business and...
  17. 500 Lyft rides and 6,000 mi in 2 months with my Hybrid Maverick

This is a pretty typical week for me. As you can see I gobbled up all the loot boxes. It has its ups and downs. Busy times and slow times. I don't work after dark and I try to avoid rush hour. Typically I work 3 to 4 days a week. Every market is different. most of the professional guys buy...
  18. 500 Lyft rides and 6,000 mi in 2 months with my Hybrid Maverick

It's a bed rug liner that I got from realtruck.com. it was about $450? Pretty easy to install with some velcro and a razor blade. My gripe with the sport mode is just that they programmed it to pretend shift like an automatic transmission. Nissan does the same thing with their cvts and even...
  19. 500 Lyft rides and 6,000 mi in 2 months with my Hybrid Maverick

The Mavericks easily as good as my Prius if not even better at doing Uber and lyft. You do need a top for your bed for carrying their cargo and some kind of Mat to protect their belongings from sliding around or getting scratched up. I used the sport mode all the time in my Prius to jump out...
  20. 500 Lyft rides and 6,000 mi in 2 months with my Hybrid Maverick

I haven't been working as much as I usually do probably because I keep going to the lake and the river in the Maverick LOL that's a lot more fun than driving for Uber and Lyft. So far the truck has been great. I'm already starting to get some wear on the front tires especially the very middle...
