They already provided the verification and Yes they can just change the email address. Some dealers don't even put the buyers email address in the order, they put the salesman's email address. They will tell you, oh yeah we canceled that order and even gladly give you your money back. They are't going to actually go in the system and cancel it, because that would be their loss. Why do that when they can take it say you refused to buy it, which you did after it was ordered and then sell it. It's my personal opinion nothing more, but I just don't see them actual canceling an order when they can make profit above MSRP especially right now with the current market.
Understand, sort of.
If they don't put the email address in the order, how does Ford know to send ME the confirmation email? Ford can't just dream my order up and send me a confirmation out of the blue.
But I totally get the idea of not canceling the order to put a vehicle on the lot.

If and when the time comes and I make the decision to cancel, I'll call Ford Customer Service myself and tell them I'm canceling. Don't know if that works but I will at least try to get it officially canceled.

I just left a message with my dealership to call me back so I can cancel my order. I do not mind waiting a few months and checking week to week to see if my order as been scheduled. Until further notice has a whole different meaning than stick in there you will get scheduled. Hard to say it’s worth the wait when the wait is until further notice.
Those second-hand Tacomas are looking better and better.

Agree with this 100%.
Looking at the market and the options out there, anything under 30K that gets better than 22mpg is an improvement over "midsized" trucks that are out there.
2018 Frontiers that barely get 20mpg are going for over 30K right now. Insanity.
I am not shopping against other trucks. I'm shopping against other vehicles that get at least 30 mpg combined. So the ecoboost is a non-starter.
It's XLT Hybrid or car for me. That is until someone else comes out with a hybrid small truck. Hello, Toyota?

Was surprised after seeing the Hyundai that they didn't offer a hybrid. With that styling and weird wagon/futuristic el camino styling it seemed like a hybrid would be an option...

From today's Ford scheduling bulletin / notes sent from Ford to dealers:

I shared this with my sales rep and he said it only applies to new orders. The orders that are scheduled and have been excepted are still on track.

There must be some IP issues around the planetary eCVT. I suspect that not just anyone can offer it at this time.

Calling Ford directly would likely end up with them telling you to call the dealer. Remember Ford is selling the vehicle to the dealer and the dealer is selling it to you. Ford does not sell vehicles directly to customers. I also know that my dealer told me, we will order your truck, but you are never under any obligation to buy it, because we will just sell it to someone else. I don't care if they cancel the order or not, no sweat off my back since it won't impact me financially. This is why I don't think a dealer will actually cancel an order. I guess you'll find out if you actually decide to cancel your order. :) Anyway as I said just my personal thoughts. I think Ford needs to do a lot better job explaining all this stuff.

I think you mean it applies to unscheduled Hybrid orders. Not just new orders. It says they will not be scheduling Hybrid orders until further notice.

Sounds like you have a beef with the dealer. If you're canceling because Ford can't deliver, than what do you care what happens to your order as long as the dealer has been acting in good faith?

I am in the same boat but Ford doesn't give a s*** about us, they have created such a hype around these two products that they will have enough people buying their stuff. It is just super unprofessional. They knew there is a pandemic and they should have planned properly. But again, they don't care, it is what it is and they will blame it on all sort of BS. If these all is a problem, I am wondering why they did this ridicules celebration of their first Maverick last week?
These plans startedong before a pandemic
