My hybrid makes clicking sounds after it's been off for a bit

My hybrid makes clicking sounds after it's been off for a bit. Sounds like does something locking. Curious anyone else have this issue?

This is normal. Nothing to be concerned about. It's part of the Hybrid mechanics.

I have noticed if I am in my garage walking by the maverick it makes clicking noises too. I'm guessing it's because I'm getting near it with the key fob. Still wonder what exactly it is though.

Happens to mine ALL the time, figured it's intentional.

I've assumed that it's doing some charge balancing among the cells.

Nothing to worry about. My Escape hybrid does it too.

My ECO does the same thing . Sounds like some kind of relays opening and closing . Will do it after the car is turned off and I'm sitting in it with the doors closed .

My ecoboost as well, so it’s not a hybrid thing.

Mine does this as well if I'm close to it with the key in my pocket. I'm guessing it's just the truck prepping everything to start.

I have a Hybrid, NO FOB, NO Key in my pocket....but get the clicking sound after turning the truck off. If I walk by the truck an hour after a drive it often starts clicking when I walk by....without the key in my pocket, again not a FOB.

Many, many owners have reported this, but Ford service people hear it toooo but do not know what causes the clicking sound.

Yes, but the noises out of a hybrid are a bit louder, harsher, more startling. EB just sounds like flutters.

No these are the sounds when you walk up to it and unlock the door or get close to it with the key fob..It starts making clicking sounds. What I think it's doing is pre energizing stuff. If you are working on your truck it will end up going into deep sleep mode because of this.

Yeah, this is normal for a very large majority of cars nowadays, especially hybrids. Cars nowadays have a lot of sensors and diagnostics they run through whenever you shut off the vehicle. I'm a 12v technician who works with vehicle electronics for a living and I've heard countless vehicles "chatter" after pulling them into my bay and shutting off the engine.
