one thing i know for a fact that Hybrids makes weird noises - I have had 2 prius's in the past and both made strange noises after being shut down for like 5 minutes. One of them always sounded like it farted approximately 5 minutes after being shut down and being parked in the garage lol. The other one used to do farts and clicking noises here and there the only common thing was it used to be within 5 minutes of being shut down. Was told its all normal and i read on forums that the "fart" sounds were some pump releasing pressure - yea a true fart LOL

My hybrid makes clicking sounds after it's been off for a bit. Sounds like does something locking. Curious anyone else have this issue?
Sounds like a malfunction. I'll offer to buy the car from you for 25% of what you paid for it. The offer is good today only.

Maybe. Since it's new. But literally sounds like the doors unlocking
My Ecoboost does this, sounds like little motors or servos running, clicking, etc. My ST does it too behind the dash, and also in the front end as there are motorized fins that open and close over the radiator based on temp.

Did some asking about this. Seems it is normal. The Majority agree it is the Vehicle/ford pass info (tire pressure etc) being updated.

Mine does it for a couple hours after being turned off parked and locked. Sometimes when you get near the car or touch it, it will make clicking noises too.
Yep, it's a hybrid thing. My Prius has done this since new.

It knows it has been touched and is checking sensors to see if a wheel is being jacked up or possibly being touched in an inappropriate place.

OK, so just wanted to add to this. I have the Ecoboost (non-hybrid) and i'll hear these noises as well (sounds like relay clicking sounds to me). What concerns me is that some folks here indicate that is normal in regards to things cooling down, but I definitely hear these noises way after things have cooled down, i.e. > 24hrs after its been driven (yes we didn't drive the Maverick for a 24 hour period... the horror... :) ). My concern is the draw on the battery and the wear on the relays/parts or whatever it is that are clicking.

I'm sure it must be normal operations.... I'm curious whats going on though.

It's not an issue, my Wife's Rav4 Hybrid does it too, as did my 17 F150 and my 16 VW Golf-R, it's some kind of system diagnostic that runs after you turn off the vehicles now, but it's nothing to worry about. It's normal in new cars. (Agreeable.. Weird.. )

I know this is an older post, and apologies if this has been mentioned, but I'm wondering if it isn't the catalytic converter cooling down.

Mine doesn't click most of the time when I'm driving, but occasionally it does click when I'm driving.

I have noticed if I am in my garage walking by the maverick it makes clicking noises too. I'm guessing it's because I'm getting near it with the key fob. Still wonder what exactly it is though.
